UT would be lucky to have the Dooleys

And he also brought one of greatest defensive coordinators ever. Not to mention Ed O was a former head coach. Essentially he had two head coaches working underneath him.
Also, let's not get compare coaching in the NFL to coaching in WAC.

How did that work out?

If he's wearing the orange on the sideline then he's my coach as long as he's here.

Thanks for the post.

I will give him my support if he is our guy, but most people on here are not going to be happy...
 well, it happy time in TN. If he don,t do good we can tell our grand children about 2010 at Neyland S. Im behind him. Was he my choice. No, Brown was and others. I don,t know what will happen.but I not going to :cray: about it. This coach and the players need support. Go to it Vols.:clapping:

If the truth ever comes out from a person in the know. Not me. Of how this came about and how many coaches we actually contacted or did not interview. How many have turned us down. How much money was offered. Basis of this selection. We may fire MH.

I'd rather the NCAA put us out of our misery and give us the death penalty than for us to hire a 4-8 coach from La Tech.

Now ESPN is back tracking. They said were still talking to Houston's coach

Whoever our coach is...be it Kippy Brown or Derek Dooley...it would be in our best interest to welcome him with open arms. Why penalize him from the start with virulent posts and aggression? Whoever it is, he has a mess to clean up and we should not make it any more of a challenge. He will need our support. Success for him will be easier if he feels we all have his back. Kiffin screwed us, now let's show him what the Tennessee community is all about, what the fan base is like. Show him we have class and dedication and loyalty and tradition. Make him see that he is the one who screwed up. Let's get behind our new coach 110% and make this work! Go Vols!

The VolNation may not see it now, but if in fact Coach Dooley does go to UT, you will be getting the best young coach around and a fine man. As a Tech alum, I have had the privlage over the past few years to see Derek's work at the University and around the community. He has taken a program out of the depths and has revitalized it and has brought a vision to the school and the community of what Tech will one day be. Derek and his family have been a huge asset to our small community that we would hate to see go.

Check out the following links about Derek in his time at Tech:

If in fact the Dooleys to make their way to Knoxville, take care of them as your own. They are fine people.

thanks for posting...

Yeah, the Dooley's are great people...especially Barbara Dooley(Derek's mother), who has a weekly segment on the Paul Finebaum Show and loves to bash Tennessee.

:eek:k:

I feel badly for Coach Dooley. He has been put in a tough spot. Guys, we may not support the decision, but we need to support the man unless he gives us a reason to do otherwise. After all, what choice do we have at this point. And besides, he may consider this his "dream job". I know that doesn't automatically mean we'll win ball games, but isn't it worth something that he obviously wants to be here? Apparently a lot of coaches don't.

Please stop using logic and reality. I would rather hope for some magical coach that nobody knows about who would love to come to UT. Of course, nobody has put forth one single name of such person, but hey, I prefer to live in a dream rather than reality.

I guarantee you that Vince and Barbara Dooley just became two of the biggest Tennessee fans in the world.

I don't think Derek will be going to Georgia anytime soon, if he has success at UT. Whoever speculated on that obviously doesn't know how badly UGA's current administration has treated Vince.

If Derek has any feelings toward UGA at all, it will probably be wanting to annihilate the Dawgs between the hedges and then send a game ball to the school's president.
