So a friend of mine told me that he doesn't think that we will finish with a top 5 signing class by National Signing Day. I think we will.

The only thing holding me off from the bet is that I think some teams might jump us and knock us down to around 6.

So I ask you guys... Would you make this bet? Need some help boys..

With the way everything else involving football for us has gone this season, I wouldn't take the bet.

I'm sure I would have to specify which service. The only thing is some other schools may have more spots to fill than we do right now and it would give them the opportunity to jump ahead. We can only take a couple more at most.

If we secure Josh Malone, it's a lock. Before June I thought we would finish around 7th. Now I think we'll finish 4th. The size of our JUCO class prevents us from finish #2 IMO (no bonus points with JUCOs).

Ehh, you really need to watch out for this. Alabama, UGA are pretty much going to be above us. I think you have to be concerned with Texas A&M, Flordia State and Ohio State. Along with Notre Dame and Clemson being a dark horse. You just have to do some research.

I think if we land a couple of guys that are thought to be leaning our way Malone(4*), Sharpe(high 4* UF/UT) also being in it for a couple more 4 stars that we're in on with a NSD surprise even if it's one more 4* I think we will be four or five in the rankings. JMO

Do some research on how many of those teams^ can take and see who they're all in on and make that call.

Without doing any research I think it plans out something like this..

1-Alabama (Only 23 commits Two 5* Fifteen 4*)
2-UGA (Only 17 commits One 5* Twelve 4*)
3-
4-
5-

Texas A&M (Only 17 commits one 5* Ten 4*)
Ohio State (Only 17 commits Eleven 4*)
Notre Dame (Only 17 commits one 5* Ten 4*)
Auburn (Only 16 but have two 5* with Six 4*)
LSU (Only 15 commits Nine 4*)
Florida (Only 15 commits with Ten 4*)

Tennessee(31 commits one 5* sixteen 4*)

All these schools could finish really strong. I like our chances but it's a little early to be sure.

Note* they're higher 4 star ratings that will help other teams. If we have the same number of recruits with the same stars, their guys could be ranked higher (closer to a 5 star)

I would not take the bet. I think several schools hop over UT by NSD. It will be close to top 5 though.

If the coaches start dropping commitments, it could possibly help the ranking this year to get into the top 5, but will prove to be a disaster for next year IMO.

I think we'll settle down around 5.

Georgia
Texas A&M
Ohio State

Are all nearby with 17 recruits - which means they will get full points for at least 3 more recruits (in other words, close ground easily).

It is going to take Butch landing a few more badass recruits to keep us up there IMO.

I have a feeling we need Adoree or another 5 star to finish #2 behind Bama.

I would not take that bet. I would bet we finish in the top 10. There is going to be a lot of shuffling around betwee n noe and signing day.

A top ten class would be outstanding for TN. A top would be making a huge statement by CBJ. I hope we do finish in top 5.

It will be a Top 10 class. ..

Still too many schools with spots to fill before NSD

Only way we finish with a top 5 is if Adoree Jackson and/or Clifton Garrett are apart of this class and that's given that Malone is apart of the class as well.

There are still a lot of unknowns - several good points here - as it sits this class would have finished 7th thru 9th last year. Rivals and I believe 247 only rank the top 20 players. As a result we could fairly easily get passed on one or both of those. Scout ranks and uses all of your recruits - and since this will be an extremely deep class for UT - that is where you would do the best or have the best chance for the class ranking holding up. We could easily finish 6th or 7th on 247 or on Rivals. I can't see us finishing out of the top 5 on Scout.

We will likely get commitments from a couple more big fish but the other top teams will as well. This one is not the slam dunk that it might at first appear.

Up the ante and start talking trash. If we get Malone, which it kinda appears we will, it's a lock.

Since some of the recruiting services only count the top 20, I'd be afraid to drop a large amount of money on it.
