Thats great. But I am still trying to figure out what the big suprises on NSD are. Was it getting another QB or everyone we were hoping to get we didn't get

I'll go with rivals, they have us #20.

Rivals is general who I consult with as well....and to sign a 20th ranked class after what we went thru??/ Well some can pontificate "facts" but realistically that's an amazing feat to come in at 20th when we were "out" on so many....if CBJ can coach a lick I think his recruiting will be fine...

This is at the top anyway, so I'll ask. Why would we bump a thread containing a link to bleacherreport which is most likely just the OP trying to drive clicks to his own article? Seriously. There are legitimate websites (including this one) where this information could be sourced. What could possibly be the motivation for coming in here with a bleacherreport link to ask a question that has already been discussed to death? It's got to be spam.

A top 25 class in the country is great till you realize we play in the SEC. I don't care what people say, we have a mediocre class with a few really good prospects. Best bet is this class fills depth issues, and some how CBJ works his magic and wins us some games this year and we get a top 15 class next year. It's always next year though for UT. I'm not saying I expected him to land the number one class this year, but we took more risks then any other SEC team outside Misso and KY. We got a volleyball players at TE and a RB that's not ran since his JR year in HS. I know, I know he'd be a 5 star prospect if he wasn't hurt, but Lane would have too if he hadn't hurt his knee and look where that got us. People need to quit settling for mediocrity when it comes to UT. We are/deserve better then that, and we have the resources and money to be better then that. We let this class slide because CBJ had 1 month to recruit, but that doesn't mean we praise CBJ and staff as if they brought a pot full of gold in here. Another class like this and UT is really hurting, and we are another 5-7 season away from this happening again.

Yeah, national rankings mean nothing in the SEC. We finsihed right around the bottom of the SEC, below Vanderbilt. There are no positives here.

Well they signed five more players, quantity is included in these rankings. I am glad Butch didn't just sign guys to fill up spots. Will be huge for next year.

One other factor to just throw into the pile is that NSD is day 1 not the finish line. There will be others added to the class. So, it seems likely that we will move up a few more spots before it's all finalized.

No, not spam, I just saw it and posted it. All I was hearing was we were around 30th so the report was refreshing. haha. Don't read too much into it.

Alabama was down when they hired Saben. They hired him in late January right? Top 15 class. Time to stop with the excuses guys. CBJ won't spank you.

Saban also didn't START with a 50th (ish) ranked class. Let me repeat that, Saban DID NOT start with a class that was ranked around 50th give or take 5 spots...

I am not being argumentative, but you do realize that CNN links to Bleacher Report and not SI now, right? I am not saying that validates it, but it certainly gives it much more credence.

FFS, how the hell are we settling? We are getting what we get. There isn't a darn thing any of us can do about it. We can ***** and moan about stars and coaches, but in the end we have to choose to support UT or not. I choose to support UT. BTW, UT is already really hurting. It can't get much worse than this.

CNN is trash, so that seems par for the course. But I didn't realize that.

I don't know who this Saben character is that you speak of.

Rivals scores based off your top 20 recruits. So their top 20 were better than our top 20. Those additional signees do not factor into Rivals.

What really matters is did our team meet it's needs. That is where I believe this class falls short...not because it was the 20th ranked class or because it was behind Vanderbilt.

Well that didn't sound right in regards to rivals rankings considering they have it posted to the left of the class ranking that we actually had s better average player rank than vandy, they had a 3.15 while we had a3.19 but somehow they had 1870 total points to our 1820. The fact we had the better player average but they somehow out rank us leads me to believe that this they only base it off the top 20 is yet another piece of misinformation that is spread around message boards. We both, according to rivals, have five four stars, and would both be using 15 of our 3 stars to fill out the rest of the top 20, so with us having the higher average would mean we should have the higher point total, which according to their site we somehow don't, so clearly rivals uses ALL signees to get the points total and not just the top 20

They rank it off the top 20, position rankings give additional points, and there's more points for being a 6.0, a 5.9, 5.8, and so on. So all 4* players are not worth the same amount.

This. I really don't know how vol "fans" could have expected better than what Jones and company did. I was expecting A LOT worse. Top 20 class with basically 1 month of recruiting? I think thats pretty damn impressive if you ask me. The fact that Green, Bell, Bellamy and Lawson actually considered Tennessee is pretty huge. I like it how people are automatically thinking that we are going to fail and we haven't even played a game yet. I support UT whole heartily and I think we get 7 wins and a bowl game this year.

Nobody knows how good this team is going to be until we see them play. For all anyone knows we could beat everybody but Alabama and Oregon. If all youre going to do is come on a website devoted to vol fans and complain and talk bad about the team then why don't you just find another team to cheer for. UT is rebuilding and that doesn't happen overnight usually. Sometimes you so called vol fans make me sick with your asinine comments.
