UT vs Xavier

I have yet to understand what is so great about Skyline. I think it's nasty. Been to LaRosa's and it was pretty good. I've been to a few restaurants/bars downtown that were good, but I couldn't tell you the name of them even if I wanted to.

I'm getting nauseous thinking about the sauce they put on the ribs at Montgomery Inn.

I feel sorry for you. Good thing tho...I know you won't be ahead of me while waiting for a table like the other 100 people in the restaurant.

Skyline (and Goldstar) chili is beyond disgusting. I don't know how they can legally call it chili. I'd even question whether it's fit for human consumption.

Graeters is wonderful though. If anyone ever goes to Cincinnati and doesn't get some Graeters then they completely wasted their trip.

I decided to join this board for the sake of providing some more information on Cincinnati as a city and Xavier as a team. I figured this isn't such a problem seeing as a couple of your fans have joined our discussions over on MM (Musketeer Madness:  Xavier Men's & Women's Basketball).

As a student, I'm discovering more and more places to eat. Yes, Mont. Inn and Graeters are AMAZING places to grab a bite. Larosa's makes some fantastic pizza as well. If you're feeling for a great Scottish place to eat, I highly recommend Nicohlson's (I think that's how you spell it). The bar, is of course, stocked full of great drinks and the food, while a bit pricey (at least for a college stud like myself :cool2: ), is pretty darn good.

As for basketball, I'm certianly looking forward to seeing both our teams face off. While most of Xavier Nation was upset when Tenn. backed out of the contract, I think we're happy about how it's taking place now. Both teams are solid and full of talent, which promises to bring an exciting game to us fans. Xavier has six players who average double-figures and it's shown that in any given night, any one of them can go off and knock down severla big shots. Burrell will probably guard Lofton, seeing as he's our best lock-down defender and shut down Indiana's Eric Gordon. With Lofton apparently pulling himself out of his slump as of late, and looking for a breakout game, I def. think that this is going to be the key match-up.

We lost a pretty bad game to ASU, and as a fan, that was certainly tough to watch. We let things get away, and we were coming off a game against our rival, Cincinnati. The UC game is considered one of the better rivalries in the country and always takes a toll on the team. Not to mention the cross-country flight out to Tempe and it's understandable for a slump against the Sun Devils. Hopefully Xavier will be able to show their true talent and skill tomorrow against you all. Of course I'm rooting for Xavier to win, and I'll be there, probably quite intoxicated, and losing my voice in an effort to help aide my beloved Muskies. However, I do hope for a good game one way or another and that it's close (Of course, if Xavier manages to win by 20, I won't complain either. Haha).

Look forward to seeing some of you there.

Go X!

It all depends. Our transition defense is inconsistent. If it comes around, then I think Xavier is all about running with UT. Xavier has some very athletic individuals with Brown, BJ Raymond, and CJ Anderson. All three can cut and slash and make it on ESPN's top ten (Brown was already #2 earlier this season with quite a nasty dunk against Indiana).

And lets not forget Drew Lavander. He may be small, but he's got a sick handle on the ball and can dribble and run around most people. He embarrassed Creighton's press by finishing with 28 and 10 earlier this season.

I'm actually hoping UT presses. This will create a lot of fast break baskets for Xavier and allow their athletes to do what they do best. Run and score.

Seems like every team that hopes UT will run with them usually is regretting it in the end (with the exception of Texas)..

Most recently I remember LBSU fans very elated that they got to play a team that would run up and down the floor with them because it'd give them a better chance to win - so much for that idea.

I know Xavier is miles better than LBSU was - just giving an example... it just seems to be that way in most cases.

We've really only been beat handily at our own game twice maybe while Bruce has been here. @ Oklahoma City vs. Oklahoma State and Texas this year... I'd include Florida last year but Lofton was still out.

Yes - it's 2:46 AM but that's less than 12 hours till tipoff so I felt it was appropriate timing to start the thread.

Discuss. (well... atleast when Volnation wakes back up)

I want to complain about us having the same avatar, but I really can't get enough of G. Jones.

I'm hoping for the best tomorrow, I spoke with someone that covers sports in Cinci, and the overall mood there is that the Vols will roll.
