i doubt it will be as hot as it was though for the 2016 UF game in Knoxville. mercy, i'm still sweating from the 1st half of that one.

And pregame moonshining at college gameday didn't help. I had a massive migraine by halftime, 50/50 from the moonshine/game. I miraculously recovered somehow during the 3rd quarter. :)

The lines at the convenience stores on the strip were way out the door after the game to buy sports drinks and water. I think I waited in line half an hour for two 32oz gatorades.

It was hellishly hot for late September.

Good memories, man for sure!

It will all depend on where you sit. We went to the Belk kickoff game last year, it was at 3. We probably spent an hour in the sun. Opposite of us..they spent the entire game in the sun.

Yeah, in general, the ease/southeast side of the stadium will be full sun, full fun.

yeah, in that shot, it's dusk, so you can see what side of hte stadium the sun is setting....n/w endzone/west side gets some shade late.

at 3:30, everyone will roast. i doubt it will be as hot as it was though for the 2016 UF game in Knoxville. mercy, i'm still sweating from the 1st half of that one.

anywho, hope to be one of them. :eek:lol:

Same. Glad we won, at least, made it all better.

Also, this game will be more than 3 weeks earlier in the year than that UF game, so the day will be longer, and the sun higher in the sky at kickoff. Woo boy.

"This was the highest elevation point, and the city grew around it. When people came to this point, they were going ‘up,’ On Sept. 23, 1974, a City Council proclamation declared that the shopping and business district in the center city be officially named ‘Uptown Charlotte.’”

Better start hydrating now.

It’s gonna be muggy and hot.

There isn’t a bad seat at boa but I’d buy a covered seat just in case...

This sounds like what we all went through @UF the previous year. Hottest game I've gone to.

Noticed utsports mentioned this

"The Volunteers will put their 12-game winning streak against non-conference opponents on the line"

and fortunately didn't mention anything about our in-conference winning streak.

We’ve won 12 straight non-conference games? Has it been that long since Oklahoma? I guess so.

Thank GOD we’re finally playing at a normal time opening day. Having to wait until Sunday night or Monday night was brutal imo.

I agree. Sucked. Last year with the GT game my anticipation was edging on tweeker lolol. Then....that season happened 😂. Yikes...

It does appear to be quite shallow, even though it holds 75k+ fans. Sun should be overhead for most of the game.

BofA-Stadium_TEST.jpg

That will be one seriously orange stadium on 1 September!

Charlotte resident for 30 years, since i was a kid. ( displaced Tennessean) Panthers stadium has the best view of the game from any seat, even nosebleeds, that i have ever been to. Much, much better view than Neyland ( I know, sorry)...the chairs are hard plastic, but I have never been to any outdoor stadium that didn't have very hard seats...cushions can't handle weather. There are many bars and restaurants nearby since the stadium is 3 blocks from the center of uptown at trade and tryon streets intersection. If you're here, a couple other cool things to check out are the national whitewater center, where Olympic athletes train, it's 15 mins or less south of BOA, the NASCAR museum is 3 blocks away from BOA (never been there though), carowinds is an amusement park bigger than dollywood...it's 15 mins south also, at the NC/SC state line on I77...there's a pretty cool museum also uptown called Discovery Place that has a planetarium and IMAX shows and laser shows at night, 2 big lakes for fishing, Norman and Wylie...both less than 30 minutes from uptown...just a few ideas for those who are making a weekend of it. There are lots of VFLs that live here, so there should be some good tailgating...call UBER if you've been drinking..there are more than 1 million people here, so cops here are generally pretty rough

Well, it’s an 8-game conference schedule, so SEC teams get 4 non-conference games a year...and they’re clearly including bowl games in this count.

So after the OU game in 2015, that’s Western Carolina, North Texas. and Northwestern. Then in 2016: Appalachian State, Virginia Tech, Ohio, Tennessee Tech, and Nebraska. And finally in 2017: Georgia Tech, Indiana St, UMass, and Southern Miss.

Last I saw we were 9.5 point underdogs.

Vegas will hate us when we WIN by 10.

I have a feeling that Pruitt and staff will have some surprises ready to use just in case we need them.

Pruitt really hates to lose.

I had to LMAO @ WVU coach thinking 70,000 is a big venue, LOL!

Come on over to Neyland and we'll show you a BIG venue coach.

After the game they'll be hearing thousands of Tennessee fans singing all night long.

VFL...GBO!!!

You got that right. WV fans won’t travel that far in their horse and buggy.

lol.

in all seriousness, there's a lot of WVU fans that live here. came down with the Western PA migration.

WV state line is only 3 hours from Charlotte, morgantown is 6.

i expect a lot of TN (lots of us here too:thumbsup:) fans and WVU fans at this one.

I expect a lot of WVA fans at this one as well. WVA and UT used to both have their football viewing parties at Dilworth Bar & Grille, and they always put WVA in the largest room, even when our games were at the same time.
