UT vs UK is a pic em

Just saw where this game has opened even, has Kentucky improved or is this in response to the personel we lost , maybe a little of both. I don't feel like Stoops is better than Butch, seems to me Tennessee should be favored.

Basketball?

Kentucky is the team that everyone (media) wants to be good but they're just not and they're not ever gonna be. Maybe a flash in the pan every now and then but they're not gonna be able to sustain success on the football field year in and year out. Kinda like South Carolina and vandy.

I don't think it is a pick'um but UK is a heck of a lot better than most people give them credit for and it is at Lexington. I would say UT by 5.

UK has had the same rise in recruiting as CBJ thanks to Ohio recruits. Their recruits were a marked improvement for UK but not as good as ours. However, we have had many more transfers and early draft declarations.

Snell is the real deal and Boom is a playmaker. Their OL was one of the best in the SEC last year and wore people out in the 2nd half. Not sure how many OL players they lost but at least one was drafted.

Our DL and LBs better be bringing the A game that day.

Both Boom and their best OL player, Toth, went undrafted last year. They also almost lost to every single team they played last year except for FCS opponent Austin Peay who also had the lead for most of the first half but did end up taking a beating. Snell is a solid player though.

Sad we are having this conversation this far into CBJ's tenure. Cats on the rise and UT mired in mediocrity. Something gotta give and this year will give us the answer.

Stoops has done good things bringing UK to where they are at right now, but I don't know if I'd put even odds on them.

I am not concerned about the odds on this game until the middle of November. This game is almost 6 months away and a lot of water will go over the dam before then.

It certainly is curious that this betting house seems to believe about half the money would end up on either side of even odds.

Maybe there are more delusional Wildcat bettors than any of us realize.
I think more the problem is Tennessee historically burns people that bet on them.

Depends on what happens the week before. An emotional win against Bama could result in a let down game against UK.

UT and UK finished with the same 4-4 SEC record last year. UT lost a lot of talent and UK returns almost everyone. The game is in Lexington, which gives UK home field advantage. It's considered a border rivalry, especially by UK. So the early line is a pick'em. Means nothing right now, but UK had some quality wins last year. Can't overlook them.

These are the reasons that could justify a pick em game between UT and UK right now. Throw in that Ky legitimately has one of the top 2-3 OLs in the SEC and nobody quite knows what Tennessee will be in 2017 given all the question marks on both sides of the ball.

A pick em?..Aww that's cute...No really...Seriously?...That is beyond hilarious.

if that line is anywhere close to even, say less than -3 I might have to use the home equity line of credit to double up.

I can't imagine what it would be like to watch a game if my house was riding on it. If we lost, honestly I would have a hard time continuing to be a Vol fan. Nevertheless, my application for an increase on my equity line was entered this morning.

If this is true and I was in Vegas I would jump all over this.

For all the reasons to be critical of Butch - his record vs KY ain't one...
2013 - 27-14 UT
2014 - 50-16 UT
2015 - 52-21 UT
2016 - 49-36 UT (UT gave up 2 garbage time TDs to make the score look respectable)

There is nothing to suggest that Stoops is in the same league as Butch - and that should tell you everything about Stoops.

Stoops is a good coach but way too overhyped IMO.

It seems that UT has the same spell over UK that UF has had over UT for that last 11 years (our 2016 win notwithstanding).
