Just saw where this game has opened even, has Kentucky improved or is this in response to the personel we lost , maybe a little of both. I don't feel like Stoops is better than Butch, seems to me Tennessee should be favored.

Stoops has done good things bringing UK to where they are at right now, but I don't know if I'd put even odds on them.

UK was a lot easier in late November when their depth was certain to have been beat all to hell. October games in Lexington are going to be more difficult than usual.

early season lines on october games are pointless

Lines are for betting. If a fool wants to risk his money, then the line is the place where he makes that choice. If you're treating it like a pic em' contest then, yeah, pointless. But that's not the intent.

It certainly is curious that this betting house seems to believe about half the money would end up on either side of even odds.

Maybe there are more delusional Wildcat bettors than any of us realize.

I don't think it is a pick'um but UK is a heck of a lot better than most people give them credit for and it is at Lexington. I would say UT by 5.

UK has had the same rise in recruiting as CBJ thanks to Ohio recruits. Their recruits were a marked improvement for UK but not as good as ours. However, we have had many more transfers and early draft declarations.

Snell is the real deal and Boom is a playmaker. Their OL was one of the best in the SEC last year and wore people out in the 2nd half. Not sure how many OL players they lost but at least one was drafted.

Our DL and LBs better be bringing the A game that day.

Not to change the subject but who is the home team for UT vs GT?

I'm pretty sure we are. Being the home team allows us a lot more options when it comes to recruiting. Tickets for recruits, able to spend money on them for entertainment, able to meet with coaches before and after the game, etc

Doesn't it also change how many GT players are allowed to travel to the games...ooh that long journey they must make! Bless their Hearts!

UT and UK finished with the same 4-4 SEC record last year. UT lost a lot of talent and UK returns almost everyone. The game is in Lexington, which gives UK home field advantage. It's considered a border rivalry, especially by UK. So the early line is a pick'em. Means nothing right now, but UK had some quality wins last year. Can't overlook them.
