UT vs UGA recruiting (split)

I was just stating facts.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the scheduling this new AD brought in. He's taking after Foley at UF.

UT always plays a tough schedule but you have to acknowledge what happened last year. You guys did not look good backing out of those 2 games.

I agree, I wasn't a fan of backing down on an opponent but hey Im just a fan and I don't call the shots, but If Dooley and Hamilton think thats what needs to be done I'll keep on cheering.

:good!: Perfectly said. A fan is a fan no matter what.

I think whats been lost in translation here is how this argument started. There is nothing that scares the SEC about a Mark Richt led team. All this talk about the "dream team" recruiting class is completely comical, I expect nothing to change no matter who UGA brings in talent wise because they have been bringing in talent for years and constantly underachieve.

I dont understand the allure UGA has and how they are able to get these recruits in at this point, but they can definitely get them to play there, what happens after that is mediocrity at best. Maybe when the dream team develops you guys can win 8 games with the best talent in the SEC; I for one hope Richt is there for years to come!

the allure georgia has is this (in response to a poster above). It is plain and simple. Georgia has in-state talent, we don't. Among the many misses Georgia will be ok simply because of the surplus of talent in the state. Florida has a ton of talent but they have to split it three ways. In georgia, they don't. GT is hardly a player with the elite.

I am not a troll. Any insulting comments I make towards UT are in retaliation. I come hear to talk recruiting and because im a UGA fan im a lighting rod for trash talk. Fine with me but dont act like I initiate it.

I'm sorry....I grew up in the years where we marked the UGA game an automatic "W" but by how much we would win by is what we worried about. When UGA beats Tennessee to me.....it is like the sun finally shining on a dogs :shaking2: every now and then. So you can say whatever you want...most of us could careless UGA fan.....because we are Tennessee and well you are not.

:eek:lol: You sound like a Florida fan talking about the Fulmer era :post-4-1090547912:

What's funny is UGA has a top 5 or top 10 recruiting class every year yet they can only win 8 or maybe 9 games a year. They are not moving forward. UT has been through hell and back the last 3 years and we finished with the same record this year. We knew going in to this year it would be rough, what is Richt's excuse?

There's very little difference between UGA and UT historically unless you want to count those MNC fifty years ago. 1998 is the only thing that separates the two programs.

i come hear ? :eek:lol: :eek:lol: :eek:lol: :eek:lol: :birgits_giggle: :birgits_giggle: :birgits_giggle: :birgits_giggle:

I've split a bunch of the posts in this thread to the UT vs UGA thread, as I had to do in the Antonio Richardson thread. Once again, PLEASE KEEP THE PLAYER THREADS AT LEAST SOMEWHAT ON TOPIC.

:hi:

What if we talk about Antonio in here away from his player thread?

Just from the wikipedia article

Winning %: 69 vs. 65
Conference championships: 16 vs. 12
Bowl games: 49 vs. 12
Consensus All-Americans: 38 vs. 29

Georgia is pretty strong historically, but we seem to be a bit better by pretty much all measures (they do have Heisman winners).

the Heisman means jack....

The truth cannot be sugar coated to make it more palatable for our Bulldog foes

After all, they finished with the same record as lowly ole' Tennessee.

But they are one good recruit from winning a NC for the second time

Too bad Richt is the best coach at doing nothing with talent

Don't worry about that anymore. The new AD likes to schedule the powerhouses of Buffalo, Coastal Carolina, New Mexico State, Georgia Southern, etc.

Yeah Hamilton's doing great backing out of UNC, facing Montana, Memphis, UTMartin, etc
