UT vs UGA recruiting (split)

Ours were clearly worse losses in the sense that we should have won but didnt. Honestly though as a fan I would have felt worse about yours. As a UGA fan I would compare them to our loss to Arkansas this year. Tie game and we had the ball in Arkansas territory with less than 2 minutes. We ended up losing in regulation. Our season was horrible.

Georgia has no excuse, none. You are consistently more talented than the teams you face every Saturday. Save 1 or 2 teams, yet ya'll screw it up every year. That's what would you should feel bad about.

We are making two separate arguments here. Your point is that based on your roster and your schedule, 6 wins is fine. I agree with your completely.

My point is you won 6 games, and your were in position to win two others and let those slip away. Im not saying you should have won if those games were played on paper, im saying your team played better, was up at the end, and let them slip away.

So UT overachieved against teams in which the majority gave them no chance to beat, but somehow our coaching staff is worse?

So should we be happy that are team played far better than expected? Or should we piss and moan about letting them slip away?

The week of the games, we mostly had the latter reaction. The more holistic perspective contains more of the former. You seem to think the former is unreasonable, and even that it's more unreasonable than it would be for Georgia fans to be happy with vast underachievement.

None of us thought it would be an 8 win team. We came pretty damn close to it though. Like by 1 second.

Apparently, in the state of Georgia, this is worse than losing to teams like Colorado and UCF, which have comparable talent to Georgia's scout team

I think theres nothing wrong with being happy about playing well. However, this whole debate began with someone commenting about the low expectations we have at UGA. To take shots at our low expectations then praise your team for losing those two games seems a bit odd.

1. You are not furious. You are making excuses. We have plenty on this board who do that for the last two regimes here.

2. When have you had a poor recruiting class?

Dude we are not making excuses for Dooley. It was his first year. When he starts going backwards in the W column I will be calling for a change.

Remember this. Fulmer won the SEC E between two very poor seasons. Did he forget how to coach? Nope, he forgot to coach.

I've been reading long enough. Time to join the party officially. Well said Tim... Well said!

Don't worry about that anymore. The new AD likes to schedule the powerhouses of Buffalo, Coastal Carolina, New Mexico State, Georgia Southern, etc.

Hmmmmm. I remember of a team that had to pay themselves out of a matchup against an ACC team to schedule Buffalo (I think). I also remember a team being called out by USCw and not accepting.

Talk about a glass house.

This is the only time you'll ever be able to make fun of us for scheduling, so enjoy it. We've got Oregon, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Ohio State coming up in 2013 and beyond.

WOW....If you think about it talent wise Ga is way better than Tenn. Their is NO reason for Ga to be scheduling those kinds of teams. Im sure when we (Tenn) get a Roster thats up to par we will not be playing a cupcake schedule. Ga has great talent , but plays below par. Tenn on the other hand has a roster full of walk ons and transfers and players that are underweight. END of story.

I was just stating facts.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the scheduling this new AD brought in. He's taking after Foley at UF.

UT always plays a tough schedule but you have to acknowledge what happened last year. You guys did not look good backing out of those 2 games.
