Unlike many on this board, I was alive and watched the two great upsets in NCAA history: Villanova(an 8 seed) over the great Patrick Ewing lead Geargetown in 1985 plus the 1983 NC State upset over Houston. A hot team, that is well coached, always has a chance if they can control the tempo of the game to it's advantage.
Not trying to be pessimistic, but a few things concern me about our chances of advancing 1)Our freshman point guard; This may be too much to ask of him, even as well as he has improved through the season. I would feel better with an upperclassman directing the attack 2) We must shoot free throws better. The next team will deny Lofton the ball, unlike UVA in the waning minute. 3) Bradshaw offers no offense (I don't think the other team even guards him now) If he could even shoot the medium range jump shot, a defender would have to cover him.
Anyway, the game will be decided on the hardwood and not on internet forums. Go Vols!
