UT vs MTSU

Stockstill > Dooley, Dasher > Any QB UT has ever had other than peyton, and MTSU is going to be in the Big East in the near future, so just dont be suprised when they are ranked higher more than UT will be over the next decade

This may be one of the silliest statements ever posted on VN. Is he better than Heath Shuler, Condredge Holloway, Tee Martin, Tony Robinson? Probably not better than Andy Kelly. Also, even though he wasn't flashy, Casey Clausen got it done in most of the big time games he played in, and beat UF in the swamp twice, so I'd take him over Dasher as well. It seems like you may have some researching to do.

I'll kind of agree with you on Stockstill over Dooley, but only because Dooley hasn't coached against premium talent, WITH premium talent. However, neither has Stockstill (in-conference). I haven't followed Stockstill's record much, but I have always respected him for the comment he made that was something to the effect of he would never take a head coaching job just for the money. He is part of a dying breed in that mentality and I respect him for it.

I almost always stay out of this stuff, but you're either trying to be reactionary and stir people up or you just don't know anything about football. Either way, it's annoying.

Exactly, like I said I live in the Boro and I wish MTSU the best but to say they are on the same level as UT even in a down year is ridiculous.

Sort of like Tennessee beating Wyoming? Or Memphis? Or North Texas?

Or Alabama beating Louisiana-Monroe?

"Any Given Saturday" rule applies to all college games. However, I don't believe the odds would be in MTSU's favor.

MTSU lost to Miss. St by 3 touchdowns at home last year...I was there suffering through it. I'm a fan, but that's not what I call handling anything.

I agree, and Miss. St. is a team that struggled in the SEC last year. Not to mention Dasher may not even see the field this year... Just an absurd argument.

Congratulations. You managed to post a comment in which everything you said is mindless nonsense. Good job.

MTSU Football is a joke. Now if we were talking about them against Vandy, perhaps that would be a much fairer matchup

Congrats... You have posted the most ignorant thing ever on Volnation... That is quite the award.

I have been suggesting a home and home between UT and MTSU. Play the MTSU home end at Titans Stadium. Keep the money instate. No need to pay $450,000 To a Bunch of 1 aa dregs from Montana. If Mike Hamilton had any guts he would make the deal. PS- MTSU would smoke UT this year, assuming Dasher played. Who knows about next year.

Dude, you're delusional. How many NFL quality players does mtsu have? TN still has a fair few future NFLers.

I live 20 minutes from MTSU campus and have always hoped the best for them, but after reading some of these comments I might purchase a Minnesota hat and watch them Gopher punch MTSU next Thursday.

so 1 player is the difference in a blowout win and a loss? I'll buy that

enjoy the Sun Belt

This post is stupid it caused my brain to start leaking from my nostrils. We may be down right now, but we could still beat MTSU. I fear it would be closer than any Vol fan would hope, but we would still win.

Im not saying UT would lose to MTSU but I would be scared if they played, I fully expect MTSU to make Minnesota look silly next Thursday and cant wait to watch it happen... Now, next season when we actually do play, Im not going to be too scared. Dasher(he might be gone this year lol) will be gone and UT will be back on track(hopefully).

P.S. Im an MTSU Student and from where Im sitting right now I could throw a rock and hit the stadium lol

I've been arguing with some vandy fans here lately, It's pathetic! I know!,It's because they seem to think that MTSU would beat UT this year and I just laugh at their ignorance and ask them, how? And of course they bring up MTSU's record and of course we all know that their schedule and talent doesn't even compare to ours and I just think it's a rediculous argument, and I always get pissed at vandy fans because they always talk about other teams beating us because they know they can't, but I still argue with them because I always defend my team....Obviously I think that we would easily beat MTSU on any given day. What do ya'll think? GO VOLS!!!

I don't know that MTSU could beat TN but they are ranked higher than we are. But I would think a Vandy fan ought to be more concerned about their own plight facing TN.

I think UT would beat MTSU in a very competitve game, but no one really knows because we haven't even seen what type of offense or defense we will run this year. Another problem is that UT doesn't have much depth. Do you think UT could have beat MTSU at the end of last year about the same time as the Ole Miss game? If the game is played at the first of the season the game would be much easier for UT.

Dasher is a very dangerous QB and overall MTSU's offense is pretty strong, but the defense is nowhere near SEC quality. My undergrad is from MTSU and I hope they go undefeated every year except when they play UT. I've always been a huge UT fan and a loss to MTSU would look a lot worse than MTSU losing to UT. Hopefully the games are pretty close over the next few years which I think would still help MTSU's recruiting. I'm hoping MTSU can defeat Georgia Tech for a quality win for the next three years.

UT will beat utm like a rented mule. Dooley will be running up the score to set the right tone from the beginning.

I wouldn't bet money on MTSU w/Dasher vs. UT with Janzen Jackson ONLY on the field. What a dumb comment.

If there was ever any question, it's pretty much been settled. Dasher has been ruled ineligible.
