I think our running game will slow the game down, thus a lower score. I'm worried about what will happen if we have to comeback because our passing attack worries me.

that's a very good point. However, I see TN's kicking game playing a much bigger factor in this game. If we can hit 2 or 3 field goals from 30-40 yards we're going to be in good shape, if we miss those FGs than Cal starts with pretty decent field position and we're on our heels somewhat. I really believe that if TN can just "survive" on special teams we will win this game, that includes keeping Jackson relatively in check.

I agree the thought of moving kickoffs back to the thirty makes me cringe. Our kick coverage lets just say has been less than steller as of late.Special teams will play a big role.I would suggest to phil (DON'T KICK TO JACKSON).He is too quick with the ball in his hands on kickoffs, need to play keep away with him.

TN - 33
CAL - 20

90% (not 100% b/c of turnovers)

Game will be tight at the end of the 3rd like 26-20. Cal will get first possession of 4th, but our D will stop them. Our offense will go on a 6 and a half minute drive and with about 5 minutes left we will score and go ahead 33-20, gameover.

No offense to any Cal fans, but unless we turn it over 3 or more times we have too much for you. Tennessee is:

-More physical.
-Better conditioned. (Been practicing in 95 plus temps for weeks now. When the guys step off the plane and it's 20 degrees cooler they will feel like they are on vacation. This will be the difference come the fourth quarter.)
-More proud. Our players will take this game more seriously than yours.
-Better defensively and coached better on that side of the ball.

can someone explain for me what anyone is trying to say with these confidence intervals?

Yes, I'm worried too. This first game is the won that scares me the most out of all of our games...(at least right now...lol). The only thing I do feel confident about is that if we can go to Cal and win that game, with all of the emotion and revenge factor from Cal, then there is no reason why we can't win the rest of our games.

I personally don't like the idea of playing a tough team the first game... I think there should be a tuneup game first.

However I have heard that Cal was supposed to be a tuneup game, and they were terrible when this game was scheduled.

They may not be the toughest team we play, but since they got so embarrassed here last year, they for sure are going to be ready for us. I just hope we don't get behind and have to play catch up. I'm optimistic, but don't want to make any predictions right now. I'm just anxious to see how some of the freshman play. I'm really excited about Eric Berry. I believe this kid is going to be very special, and very soon!

Actually, it may come down to whoever wants the game the most.
tired cliche. It will come down to talent and execution. We probably have the most talent, execution has been a bit of an issue for us over the past few years.
