Say what you want to but if we lose this game then expect another long season. Wheather Crompton is the best we have or not he plain sucks and if we are not up then don't expect a game winning drive unless it's in the hands of our RB's and they break one open. When we lost to Auburn last year it sent our team down a spiral we couldn't stop. By the way our team is playing I see us getting outscored by Auburn. Crompton and our receivers look more lost then the TV show.

We are headed into the gauntlet right now which is going to be brutal. Will we make it out OK or will we be headed for another down year with Cromp daddy. Crompton worst qb I ever saw at UT and I thought Todd Helton sucked.

The only exception to this is IF we lose to Auburn but beat Georgia. If we can split the next two weeks I'll be happy.

If we lose to AU I doubt we can beat UGA not to mention the other teams. If Crompton can't beat UA I doubt he can beat USC jr sorry to say

I agree, I think if we lose this one we will not be going to a bowl game. But if we can win then we should be ok. I don't think Auburn is really all that good, they have played every game at home so far, I think. And their toughest game has been against West Virginia who turned the ball over a lot and who was breaking in a new QB. Our D will keep us in it but if our Crompton turns it over too many times we could be in big trouble.

justin, I still see Memphis, VU and KY as wins. The Vols only need one more win to be bowl eligible. Bama tooks impressive right now, but Ole Miss, AU, UGA and SC should be competitive. SC is probably the best chance for a 6th win, IMO. Getting one or two additional wins is not impossible given the Vols defense.

Yeah I agree with you once again. We beat Auburn, it should provide a nice confidence boost. 1-1 or 2-0 is what I want. 0-2 would be devastating.

I just think our WR's need to help Crompton out, we need to help him out with play calling to not put him into positions where he'll think he needs to make a perfect throw, and we need to rely on Hardesty, Brown, Oku, AND Poole (THAT'S how much we need to run it, imo).

Try to get it into the second half and let the home crowd do their thing and hopefully we can gut out a win.

I'll worry about UGA when I have to.

I agree with you. I just don't know if we can score enough to beat a good team. You are right Bama is our only guarantee game we lose, but again I just don't know if Crompton can do enough against a good defense. But we could beat any of those teams you mention for sure.

If we beat Auburn then I see us beating UGA and giving Bama the run for their money and the rest of the SEC. If we lose to Auburn I can see our team tearing down. i am already seeing signs of it now. I hope we do beat those Tigers though.

I would agree that this game is pivotal for both teams. UT wins this one and it has confidence at home against UGA and possibly wins too or lose to AU and the confidence level hits the skids and the wheels fall off. As for AU, you guys get to be their first true test. They have put up some mighty impressive numbers against who? Your D has been the glue for your team for a long time. I don't see AU putting up huge #s on you and I see CLK using a similar gameplan that he used against UF. Establish the run game and limit the times you put Crompton in bad spots. Good luck this weekend.

Here is what I see so far about this weekend

If we win against Auburn I see us having confidence to beat UGA making us 4-2.

Then it would give us swagger to go head to head with bama which I will say a loss only because it's at their home. Who knows we'll see.

If we beat Auburn I see us being 4-3 after Bama game and we win the rest of our games making us 9-3 and then off to a bowl game.

If we lose to Auburn then I doubt we can beat anybody other team then Memphis, VU and KU making us 5-7 again. Unless Kiffin stepped in with Stephens and he resereccted us to beat those teams. This is what we are looking at for the rest of the year.

We must remember that if we are not good enough to beat Auburn we weren't good enough to beat UCLA then we're not good enough to beat the other top to mid SEC teams.

This game is an absolute must. If anything, a statement that this staff is the best new thing in the conference. It blows my mind that it has been 10 years since we last beat Auburn. Phil only went 0-4 this decade against them, but that is just absurd.

The key to this game will be the turnover battle. A loss would just be crushing...
