According to the rules that prohibited the LAL game from being on PPV, unless the game is going to be picked up by LF this game will not be shown on PPV. CBS I am pretty confident wouldn't pick up this game either. So anyone else but me gonna be upset if this game isn't on TV??

I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure that the reason LAL wasn't on PPV is because they would have had to move it to later because we can't have a game on TV the same time as a CBS or LF game. We didn't want to move it because of Homecoming activities. The only way it is on TV is if we move it to later (after CBS game) and televise on PPV or ESPN gameplan could pick it up. I feel pretty sure about this.

I am pissed. As of now it is not scheduled to be televised. I will not pay for the game on TV no matter win or lose this weekend. I will go and get a cheap ticket or watch it at a local establishment with adult beverages. If we lose this weekend, I might just go hiking.

Well, the good news is that cheap tickets for this game are still available, even for good seats. :)

this game will not be on PPV. You are only alloted two games on PPV every year (Tennessee bought our MSU's PPV rights earlier this year).

Don't you think that if were that simple, the Tennessean would know that? A Tuesday story called it "a decision still to be made." I'm not going to pretend to know the details of all the SEC's intertwining TV contracts, but you've got to figure that if the Tennessean still says it's up in the air, then it's still a possibility.

The Tennessean also said that the LAL game was going to be on PPV per about 5 people I know that read the Sports page from them everyday. Sorry, I don't like reading that Vandy homer paper when it comes to my Vols. Too many let downs with them, plus if you think we're bad you should read Joe Biddle's or David Climer's articles after a loss. Its like to came right out of a Vandy English lab.

Do you have a link. ASU, USM were on PPV. LAL couldn't be because UT didn't want to move homecoming activities.

Here's the story.

Each SEC Team has two PPV exemptions that allows them to have a ppv game at the same time as a televised SEC game. The Vols have used theirs already. Tennessee could have had the La-Lafayette game a PPV game, but it would have to be a night game that started when no other SEC game was on TV. Hamilton didn't want to move homecoming to a night game. He is also against November night games because of the cold.

So, here's where we stand. They are trying to allow Vandy to use their exemption, but if that happens, Vandy would be the ones producing the game. Vandy doesn't have as good a production setup as the Vol Network, so they are trying to work out a deal where the Vol Network actually produces it and Vandy and UT share the money.

If the game is moved to PPV, I would imagine it will be a night game.

If it is not on ppv, I would imagine either a Noon start or a 2-3pm start.

This is kinda tickin me off. The MSU game shoulda been televised on LF, instead they go and televise some rinky dink game. Bama game was televised, but not nationally. Shoulda been on ESPN2. Now the Vandy game is not gonna get air time. I kno we get televised about every game, except the easy games. But this year is ridiculous. We have neva had 2 SEC games not televised.

Anybody kno when the KY game will kick-off and if its televised?

KY game depends on how each team does this weekend and next.

UT v. MSU was a rinky dink game.

There have been other times when we have had quite a few games not on TV. Chalk it up to two things, we aren't the powerhouse we once were and also, there are quite a few better teams playing each Saturday.

If they're using Vanderbilt's exemption to allow a PPV game at the same time as a televised SEC game, then why would it need to be a night game?

You're right, I mistyped. It wouldn't "have" to be a night game at that point.

The Kentucky game is going to be at Noon as part of a CBS doubleheader. That's not set in stone yet, but the only other option is the 4:00 game on CBS as far as I have sen mentioned (Hubbs from VQ and others).

Although..... I did just find this on CBS' site.

The Home Depot SEC on CBS: Alabama @ Auburn, 1:30-8:00 p.m. (tentative) (CBS HD)
Jordan Hare Stadium, Auburn, AL
The Home Depot SEC on CBS: Florida State @ Florida, 5:00 p.m. (tentative) (CBS HD)
Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Gainesville, FL

That means that we would be the 8pm Game on ESPN or no TV again.

Hmmmm.

I thought I heard the UT/KY game would most likely be the evening ESPN game.

I would say that you are probably right. Nationally televising us to lose against Kentucky. I think the longest winning streak in the nation breaks this year....maybe
