UT Vandy game 7:30pm start

Yes, there is a 5 game limit, though CBS has purchased a 6th game from ESPN (see 2015 Bama). CBS picking UT-Mizzou means they likely never gave any thought to picking UT-Vandy.

I wonder if CBS has ever broadcast the UT/Vandy game?

If they have, it's been a while.

It's not that I'm surprised. It's just a sad commentary on the state of the SEC East that a game that is ultimately meaningless is more interesting than the game that could very well decide the division.

The SEC East is "that bad" when compared to the SEC West. But when compared to other divisions in the country it's very comparable. Take the ACC Coastal: TN beat VT, UGA beat UNC. VT and UNC are the leading teams in the Coastal. Likewise, it is a similar case when compared to the weaker divisions in other conferences.

Thus, this "sec east is awful" is exaggerated because it is compared to the SEC West.

The SEC West is unbelievably strong. The SEC East is comparable to the strength of other conferences.

Could be tough ticket if UT wins and FLA loses Saturday, I remember a few years ago the Vols were fighting for 6 or 7 wins and the tickets were outrageous on the street. Supply and demand I suppose..

Glad I got mine already. Thanks to Volnation for recommending to buy early. Only paid $75 for G section in the 40's. I think they are going for $90-ish now.

I am going to the game. I have only been to Nashville a couple of times. Couple of questions?

Will the kick off call be show be broadcast where you can watch it or will it be in the stadium?

Will the Pride March into the stadium?

Will they have a Vol Walk.

I know this an away game but it is in Tennessee and around half if not more will be Vol fans.

Any suggestions on parking, what time to arrive. I am not planning on tailgating anywhere but I don't to arrive too early or too late.

Thanks for the help.

Don't they have the contract to carry the Iron Bowl?

No, they do not.

See 2014 where the Egg Bowl was CBS's game the last weekend of regular season play.

The only game CBS is required to carry is the day-after-Thanksgiving game, which the SEC has made the date for the Arkansas-Missouri game - also called the Borderline Rivalry - from here on out (so the only game CBS has to air without choice is Arkansas-Missouri).

If Alabama and Auburn were both 5-6 and fighting for the "who gives a damn bowl", CBS would still take the iron bowl over Tennessee playing Vandy, no matter how good they are.

Nah, they'd probably just end up defaulting to whichever SEC team was at home between UF-FSU and UGA- GT (unless LSU - Texas A&M was a Saturday game that year).

But the reality is CBS is all about Tv ratings and that's it.

The East is bad compared to more major divisions other than just the SEC West.

Using a division that has Virginia, Pitt, Duke, Georgia Tech, and UNC isn't a terribly high bar for comparison, either.

Lindsey Nelson called the game years ago. I still remember: "Johnny Jones...Johnny Jones... Johnny Jones!" :hi:

I went to the Vandy vs FL game the week after we beat the Gators and it was all Gator fans at the game.

Before you ask, I was given the tickets and I was able to get home in time to see the TN vs GA game.

And you were in Orange correct?

Here's a good laugh......my wife went to Vandy grad school. Cost a chit load of money but hey it's Vandy.
Anyway, I ask her to call up the Alumni Assoc to see if she can get some tix for UT game so she does.
This person proceeds to tell her that ALL ticket sales are through the ticket office and gives her the #.
THIS is why Vandy blows! We paid them nearly 6 figures and they can't even hook a sister up on some damn tickets. I wanted like an inside deal or something and all I got was a damn phone #.
So I paid top dollar like everyone else.
