Watching the U.S. Open right now and with almost a full two weeks left still left to go until kickoff I just saw the first commercial for our game. I really don't have a good explanation as to why but it got me a whole hell of a lot more fired up than I would have expected.

I will now return to my regularly scheduled program of tempering expectations.

Hence the second part of my statement. Wasn't implying that we could in any way look past this next game. Was more about my surprise to my own reaction at seeing the commercial for the first time.

Excellent use of 10+ year old pop culture reference, though. Truly well done.

When you make a stupid thread, expect stupid posts.... brobot.

I don't even wanna talk about Florida. There's no way we should be worrying about anyone other than UCLA. We owe them a stiff uppercut to the chin.

yeah listen to these guys and stop overlooking UCLA. It is imperative that you keep your mind on the next game and cheer as hard as possible. If a fan looks ahead it could be disastrous to the outcome of the current game.

I would hate for my overconfidence to be in any way detrimental to the UTKVFT.

Beating a dead horse here but...

I'm much more interested in the "showdown" with UCLA. Lucky for all of us, so is the team.

UT - 38
UCLA - 17

This is assuming that our offense plays similar to the way they did against WKU. The thing I was most impressed with, which EB reiterated after the game, is how prepared for WKU we were. It feels good to know that we will be prepared for every team we play, because this coaching staff won't let anything else happen. We may lose games this season, but it won't be because of lack of preparation like it was so many times with CPF. GO VOLS!!

Good point...however do you not agree that if UT loses to UCLA it kind of puts a big downer on any upset talk of Florida? I mean look at how many posts are now saying we're going to upset Florida based on beating a crappy WKU like a drum?

We should probably refrain from making any negative statements about players as well, for recruiting's sake.

I dont think this staff is going to let the team overlook ANY team whether they are ranked last in the league or first. I like that kind of focus.

Very excited for this game, as I am sure everyone else is too! I think we'll really know how we'll compete against Florida after the UCLA game. Im being optimistic, but I really think we have what it takes.

Here's hoping the Vols put a beatdown on UCLA so the PAC Ten will understand what SEC football is all about. Plus it makes the game on Sept 19th that much more intriguing.

Why not beat them. Sounds like a plan to me. We have gave away too many games to them it is unbelievable.. Florida is beatable, we minus well be the ones to at least give them a run for their money. I think a UCLA win would be a great springboard into that matchup. Whether you are a fan of UF or UT it should be a fun game. LETS BEAT UCLA THIS WEEKEND!!! GO VOLS!!
