UT to have lowest opening game attendance

Give the tickets and a hot dog away to the homeless. This will make the stadium look full.

The stadium can look full with 90,000 people there. The only difference is there is a little more room for people to move around on their rows.

They could on occasion to get more people to the game without pissing off the high price ticket holders is to let Police, Fire ,Ems,Military in for half price.

:cray:Is 90K really that bad? MSU/Tiger High had just over 33K. Kittens/Western Kentucky had less than 25K. I'll be there!

Anyone else find it funny that the people whining about bandwagon fans are the people who can afford to travel hundreds of miles to watch football?

Most schools would be happy with 90k plus fans in the seats!

On another note; Tennessee Fans are excited about this team and will show up in force!

In my opinion; going to the game is just as much about the experience as it is about the game.

There has been nothing like going to a home game in Neyland in my 37yrs!!!

Best fans in the world and best fan experience i have ever witnessed! :salute:

Sections G thru Q and X thru Z are available as well as the upper decks for those sections. Also, AA, BB, CC and DD.

That's a lot of seats folks. We'll see if we even break 90k in actual attendance tomorrow.

Its became like a status thing to go to gamers now, especially in Basketball.. Our stadium not even as close to as rowdy as it used be. It's really disappointing.

Yes its bad. We're Tennessee not Kentucky or Miss St. They're terrible
:clapping:If everyone on this board would stop crying and go the game perhaps there would be 102K there. By the way MSU is ranked in the top 25. Like I said I'll be there and cheering the VOLS where will you be?

I will be there amd I rarely miss a home game but I can't blame the fans for sitting at home. UT has really hurt the fan interest on many fronts and that disrespect is finally coming home to roost. Degradation of the schedule makes it a lot easier to sit at home and watch much better games and teams on the tube.

Unfortunately I had surgery last Friday and I'll be on crutches for the next four weeks. I'll only miss two games but that's two games too many.

We have a winner......the economy is bad and especially in East Tn...hard to validate spending the money on tickets and gas and food....for Montana....

Watched a little of Wisconsin UNLV game at Camp Randall noticed lots of empty seats for a top 25 team. It's not all about how well the team is doing the general state of the economy and just about any game you can watch on HD tv has taken it's toll on attendance. Don't get me wrong, if UT had won the SEC title last year Neyland would full. But I'm fortunate that I can go to all the home games. We used to stay 2 nights at hotel but the cost of the weekend goes up by 90-135 dollars so sometimes we drive back 250 miles to save money. We may get home at 3 a.m. But we saved a lot of money.

Not attending the game doesn't make you a "fair weather" fan. For some of us, it just means were struggling financially. I just had my hours cut back at work, but at least I have a job. Some people aren't as fortunate. Some of you need to pull your head out of your sphincter and think about what you're saying. People like me already feel bad enough about not being able to see the game without you adding to it by questioning our fanhood. I bleed Orange, but I have a family and what money I make goes there first.
I'll most likely be listening to it on the radio, unless I find a bar showing it on PPV where I can nurse a beer or two. I'm not a Kesling fan, but I'll listen if it's the only way I get to experience the game. It's bad when you come on here looking for info on your beloved Vols and leave feeling ashamed because you can't afford to go to the game. That's not the "Volunteer Spirit" I remember. Hope everybody enjoys the game. I think we kick their grizzly tails all the way back to Montana. Go Vols!

If the "tremendous value in Tennessee" football keeps going up, there's only one way I'm gonna be able to pay for it...(pause, wipe sweat off brow, pull pants up while moving them from sided to side and take a deep breath)...by LIVING IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!!!!

Seems to me like the entire Knoxville Police Department already is at the games, down on the field.

I have no doubt that attendance will be back to capacity as the season progresses.

Heat -Humidity -High prices for tickets/Parking/food/Drink -few fans from competing school- average competition- not surprising to me

Someone tell Mr. Fuller he has nothing to do with determining the value of the tickets. If this team is undefeated after the UF game then the ticket value will soar.

Its all about winning. People will start going out thier way to make the games if we are beating good SEC teams once again.

You're not alone, you are just honest about it. There are lots of people right now in the same boat or worse, but don't expect many more to join you in telling it like it is.
