There aint a big enough "like" button for this one! Hounds can be some NASTY bastards! Beagles too!! I'm pretty sure that bear was about to **** itself. Bears DO NOT like dogs, much less hounds. I will guarantee 100% that Smokey was in no way, shape or form, scared of that bear. Anyone who has hunted with any type of hound know what I'm taking about. The worst is what they will do to a damn wild hog. Those f-ers are vicious.
I’ve seen plenty brave hounds not be so brave anymore once a bear mauls him for a few seconds. I’m not saying hounds aren’t tough and brave though.

In my experience, hound dogs are meaner than hell... Friend of mine had a coon hound called possum. She was a sweet as sugar to people but the meanest dog I've ever seen to other animals.. I would've put that dog up against any other dog I've ever dealt with..

I know, cool story...

My bluetick is sweet as can be towards just about everything. Well except people on bicycles and squirrels, which she won't hurt them but chase and howl.

Smokey got into it with the Baylor bear at the 1957 Sugar Bowl.

And lived to tell the tale.

Looking at the bottom left and top right photos it looks like the handler is pulling Smokey away from the bear. Notice the direction of the ears.

Geezz it gonna be a long off season.

PETA calls for universities to drop use of live animal mascots after Bevo-Uga incident

To sum all of this up, this is uncalled for. At least they could keep the mascots separated on their own sidelines. Smokey is a part of tradition at Tennessee, and for someone to try to destroy tradition needs to be burned down or something.
They asked Bevo about this. They asked if he felt mistreated and if he wanted to remain as mascot or “retire”. He said, I’m good.

PETA doesn’t even think before speaking. However they do put down over 80% of the animals they receive, higher percentage than your local shelter.

No worries. That will never happen. Maybe we should call for the immediate dissolution of PETA to make the world a better place. Who wants to sign the petition?

Meanwhile the Tn football team soiled their Huggies at 14:59 in the first quarter of the GA game
ALERT! Real Fan Police! ALERT!

We have to win something of merit in the modern era to make fun of rivals and opponents.

Disagree. I dislike Bama intensely, but I despise UGA. I may give compliments to Bama when warranted. I will never compliment UGA or acknowledge anything they do. It's a garbage program with amazingly annoying fans.

Oh....and OL who aim for knees. That too. Saw that against Texas as well.

Oh no doubt! Not aaying a bear cant kill a hound, but Ive never seen a hound run from a bear OR a wild boar. Ive seen a damn coon tear into a redbone so badly, he damn near bled to death.

A little bulldog with a red sweater was positioned right in front of a 1000 pound steer, with only a flimsy nothing barrier in between them. What could possibly go wrong. I'll give Uga a little credit, he moved faster than anyone on Georgia's team that night.

I honestly think we should tease any school's football program until we win some games and are relevant again.
