What does anyone know about Eddie Gran from AU's staff as a special teams coach.

I did some searching but didn't find much.

I think we would have won 2-3 more games last year with a special teams coach. UCLA and AU for sure.

Off course, then we would still have Fulmer.

I think I can speak for most everyone that we are just happy we have a Special Teams coach now.

I remember Auburn blocking a UF punt in 2006 that really helped Auburn's cause in that win. If he was part of that, then I am all for it.

We've had a special teams coach before, he just didn't do a very good job.

there were lots of coaches who have had input on our miserable ST (including some big fan favorites around here)

One thing that you can point to year in/year out is how TERRIBLE our special teams were.

I can't remember the last person to return a kick for a TD. It might have happened recently, but it seems like it was 10 years ago.

I think it was Bret Smith on an onside kick.

Yea, I remember that one. Rogan has come close to breaking one a few times though. He saved our butts the last time we played Vandy at home...

Special Teams have never been special under Fulmer. Hopefully, we will see a big change with this coaching staff.

Strange with the kickers we have had the the overall SP is so bad. Our return teams are horrible.

Like others have said I'm just glad we have a new, fresh start, Special Teams coach. We should have the power and speed to make the return game great this year.

the last special teams coach we had was George Cafego. When the smaller schools pushed the NCAA to reduce the number of full time staff he had to retire to make the cut. Under Fulmer we had special teams by committee with many staff members having a part in addition to their other coaching duties. As no one was in charge overall that may be partly to blame why our special teams were not too special the last few years especially our punt return coverage.

Didn't George Cafego retire in 1984?

how about the last time we blocked a FG?

blocked an extra point?

blocked a punt?

not exactly on the tip of one's tongue, is it?

special teams have sucked for a long time. i don't see how we can't possibly do better with the new staff.

Urban Meyer's passion is special teams coaching. We've done very well there. Well, I guess you didnt want to hear that did you. ;)

Biggest thing Urban does is put starters from both sides of the ball on special teams. He doesn't use it as a way to get playing time for the people on the bench.
