Ut section for bama game. Anyone actually going?

Our worst experiences have been with Georgia and Florida fans.

LSU fans ( at least in Atlanta in 2001) were rowdy but fun.

My guess is that if the game goes as most expect you'll be treated pretty well.

Amen to that! Florida fans cant win or lose with any class. Bama fans are used to winning and usually offer some sort of half-ass "good-game" talk afterwards.

Who is going? Also, did you sell your tickets to Bama or UT fans or give them away or just keeping them but not going? First away SEC game and yes, we got them before the season started. We will be there wearing orange. Just wondering what others who had for tickets were doing considering the circumstances of this season. How are UT fans typically treated in Tuscaloosa? Any suggestions for our first trip are appreciated.

This year you will be fine, maybe some jokes tossed your way, but all and all ok. If it were a top ten match up expect the vitriol of ten hells all lined up to hail Satan...I mean Saban. The strip is fun, and I advise going to the qaud. Denny Chimes has a neat thing were you can see some of the former bama greats clear and hand prints like Namath, Stabler, and Derrick Thomas. Other than that the pageantry isn't the same as Knoxville. Also, park at the boy scouts on Paul Bryant near the baseball park. Straight walk and only 20 bucks(I went to the CO State game earlier this year)

I'm going. It's fine in Tuscaloosa. You'll probably be treated with pity to be honest. When we used to play at Legion Field you had to be damn careful where you parked or you'd come back to your car on blocks.

That was due to the 'hood, not the fans. :whistling:

Wear your orange with a T-shirt printed with 'Hire Saban'. That should get you invited to lots of tailgates and maybe on TV.

You should be fine. I'm sure there will be a jerk or two, but for the most part, we always treat opposing teams fans with respect. As seen from some past videos though, our fans will often turn on each other.

For those going, the Bryant Museum is a good place to go for some SEC history. Plenty of eating spots at the Ferguson Center. Ramma Jamas, on the Southwest corner of the stadium has a great burger!! Get there early though!!

Eating off campus, in and around Midtown Village, Dreamland, or Archibald's.
Sections NN or SS are in the end zone upper decks. My seats are on row 2 in NN. I'm a former coach, so I like the view to see plays open up as they happen.
Safe travels to T'town and even safer back.
No BS, but as a BAMA grad, I feel your pain when it comes to the season you all have experienced the last several years. DuBose, Francione, Price- we're rolling!, and Shula. Any of these names ring a bell? Definitely weren't high quality coaches!!

Been to Bham once and Tuscaloser twice. Treated pretty well. Apparently most of the toothless inbreds don't attend their games. Still hate any and everything about this school

We are on our way now! Also up in the upper deck, bought preseason to check bama off the sec stadium list. I'd be going even if ut had 0 wins.

Staying in Birmingham, looking at going to Saw's, they got better reviews than Dreamland.

We are actually in SS not NN. What is Saws? Where is it at?

Appalachian State 34, No. 5 Michigan 32
Line: Michigan -33

If TN wins it would arguably be the largest upset in college football history. And for all the souls making the trip for the most likely 60 point burger hung on us, there is the glimmer of hope. Nate Silver said that Alabama has a 99% chance of beating TN...Sooooooooo

They have us sitting so high up there won't be too many folks behind us. If someone hurts my son, I might not make it back. I might kill someone.

Alabama fans in Tuscaloosa are the classiest in the nation. Been there many, many games over the years. You don't have to worry about your son.

Besides, it's been so long since Tennessee won, many of the fans don't even remember this is a rivalry.

True. For many years, students attending games in Tuscaloosa dressed nicely, suits and ties or dresses. Later, that was only for homecoming. Much like the Knoxville crowd, the toothless inbreds watch on television not in the stadium.

I feel the same way when I attend the game on the Hill. I always make friends with the people I sit with and enjoy the game. I've been in battles (real ones with the Marine Corps) so when I go to the game, it is just a game. I give out high 5's to Vol fans when they do something good and I acknowledge when the ref screws up in our favor.

I cannot say that with every fanbase (LSU).

We are in SS territory as well. I saw dreamland recommended in other threads and when we booked a place in Birmingham last night, saw that Saw's another bbq joint got better reviews. Will go there tonight.

:rock:Lived there for 20 yrs, "aint nothing likem nowhere" is true. The Bammers all felt sorry for me during the Kiff/Dooley era before I moved back to Tennessee. They all looked at the power T on my truck and had that look like they were looking at an underprivileged person...that sorry but don't know what to say look. The old timers still steam over the hammering we put on them in the mid 90's.

Only probelm with this comparison is that this Bama team would have beaten that Michigan team by atleast 3 tds. If not by 30 something points. This Bama team is that good and that Michigan was that overrated. As most Michigan teams are most years....

Dreamland was right down the street so we went there. Good BBQ ribs. Enjoyed them and everyone was nice. Saw some UT fans and a Bammer behind of tried to give us some of their ribs because they ordered to many. Wasn't sure if they had spit on them or not but ate one to be nice but my son was smart enough not to take food.

Seriously, so far everyone has been nice. Yes, I think they feel sorry for us.
