Mark it down the running will be the best in years. We will line up with the no huddle offense not giving your opponent's time to make adjustments and subs and run it down their throats. Everyone is going to be surprised. Not a lot of very big plays to the wide outs but very slow and steady drives.

That is certainly what I expect against Cal and SoMiss. I just have my doubts about its' efficacy in SEC play.

I hope you're right, but I don't think that Hardesty and Foster can be a dominant 1-2 punch. They're barely above average, but once again, who knows, you may be right.

Hopefully the running game will be much improved. We have been lacking in that area for a few years now. Foster has the size and speed. Hardesty needs to run more north/south instead of east/west. Maybe that has been corrected this spring and summer.

For real, it was painful seeing him dance around. You cant do that in the SEC.

Unless our O-Lineman have learned how to run block, we won't improve in that area. I think our stable of running backs, including the freshmen, are as talented as anyone. The problem is that the blocking is just as important as the talent running behind it.A friend of mine, John Finlayson, told me last year while we were watching the Georgia game that the linemen were too heavy and couldn't get out there and run block. He should know being a former starting TE for the Vols. It just makes me mad when it's 3rd and two and we don't seem to be able to get a yard. Maybe I'm focusing too much on the bad plays but it seems like we should be able to run block better than we have the past few years. I'm glad our O-lineman have dropped a few pounds lately.

and i'd be just fine with it.

i agree with lex, to a certain extent. i think it may have some benefit agasint some of hte younger D's we should see against FL and GA as well.

but we cannot be one dimensional. the WR's and TE's are going to have step up and be difference makers.

1st and 3rd down offense will be the key. If we don't show that we can throw the ball effectively, it won't take long for anyone to figure it out regardless of huddle or not.

that was a point of emphasis Cut had for the off season. he wanted them quicker and with some of the zone blocking we are supposedly doing, there should be some improvement.

as has been stated several times, the run blocking simply cannot be worse than last year, so i do look for improvement there.

I like the running game and the no huddle gives us a killer advantage. But what do we do whin the D puts 8 in the box and dares to pass I'm thinking swing passes and slants over the middle.

yeah, i think they've said over hte course of the off season they were going to have some packages to line up RB's in the slot, and have some "different" formations with the same personnel. this is where the te's and rb's catching the flat on screens etc...become vital.

the mantra all off season has been "get the ball in the play maker's hands". so here's to them doing just that.

Coker and the tight ends will pick up the slack in the passing game.

I would agree with the o-line being to heavy

We haven't even seen this team play an opponent. Half Empty Crowd needs to be patient and watch. This team WILL run the ball more effectively than last year. Most teams with the exception of South Carolina are replacing front 7's. Addition for Tenn by Subtraction from others.

I hope our running game will be more potent than last year. We're almost hanging out hats on it at this point. I'm ecstatic that Coker is back, he has the game breaking ability the other experienced backs don't quite seem to have.

It will be nice to have that big play ability.

I think Creer will redshirt now that Coker is back. Unless Coker screws up for the last time. Hope he redshirts though. Foster with the power, Hardesty with elusiveness, and Coker with the speed. We might as well call them TKO.

Lets hope... if we can't establish the run it could be a bad day for us.

It will work great for the first half and Tn will be up, then they will for some unknown reason come out in the second half and forget all about it and let another big game slip out the door.
