Maybe we can get Dr. Bass to dig up General Neyland and just sit him on the sidelines?
Or how about a General neyland Hologram to coach the team 🤔

DonÂ’t know his record, but heÂ’s coached for national championship teams at FSU, CLEM, BAMA, and now coaching a powerful defense at Auburn. (They beat Alabama and Georgia)

HeÂ’s supposedly a Great Recruiter. I was in school at UT when he was. He was a coach at UT. If I remember correctly, I believe he was the lead recruiter on Chuck Webb. (Which shocked everyone in the country)

Well the problem with your statement is Steele has been a HC before and commanded a world defining record of 9 wins and 36 loses.

The UT fan base mentality = once you fail at something, just give up and never try again because you will never succeed after you've failed because you never learn from past mistakes. You either get it right the 1st time or not at all.

If Butch Jones can get to 9-4 twice, surely Steele could do the same. Not that I want him, but he is a better coach than Butch and more than likely would have a better staff as well.

There records as Head Coaches say otherwise, and its not even close for Steele. He is by every metric a worse. For Jone's winless SEC run, Steele had 3 winless run. He also recruited poorly as a head coach.

To be fair, the Big XII at that time was much much stronger than it is now. Solich was still at Nebraska who was still in the conference and played for a natty a year or so after crushing our defending national champions, Oklahoma won a Natty and played for another, Kansas State was at its peak under Bill Snyder, and OK State was turning the corner with a younger Les Miles. They were considered on level with the SEC and Colorado was much better.

Baylor at this time when Steele took the job was horrible. He had no financial support from their AD. I'm sure he regrets taking that job as he had no chance to turn that program into a winner. It wasnt until Briles that Baylor turned things around. If Steele is the new coach and he gets Tee Martin and some other good assistants we could be very good. He's known as a great recruiter and has coached on some great teams.
