There was a riot after the game. Fires, hoses, chanting, non-sense.
I will say that the UT party scene has seemed watered down in the last 4 years. Every year gets lamer.
Completely agree! When i was a freshman, there were parties everywhere, and now and it seems like there is none.
I heard staff lot 9 got pretty crazy after that game. Burning couches and mattresses haha.
When gerald riggs ran thru that last defender in OT to win we all just went nuts
whoooo hoooo tennessee is climbing the rankings in one place. they were ranked #18 last year for party schools. Once again for 12 straight years BYU finishes first for most lame party school lol

"The strip after the 98 florida game was the wildest I have seen."<<<<<<<<< TROOF RIGHT HERE< What people have forgotten or don't realize these days is that during the 80s and much of the 90s, there really was no gay st scene or market square at all. And The Old City was hit or miss depending on the night and how much ecstasy you wanted to consume at The Underground. SO, everything revolved around Cumberland Ave my friends. And considering Cumberland Ave is on UT's campus, it only makes sense that UT was much wilder at that time than it is now. On the other hand, I would consider Knoxville in general much more of a "city" now than it was 10-15 years ago.
wasn't UT in the top 3 in the mid 90's?
Ha about ecstasy at the Underground. You know that British Martin went to jail right for dealing there?
The Strip makes me feel old with how much has changed in just 10 years.
I am proud of the pedestrian area next to the library and humanities. That SGA really did something. Prior to that all UT did was put up blue light phones following on campus rapes. Now there are some beautiful parking garages, some great sports and health facilities (I know the latter is coming) some nice campus scenes aside from just the pretty old buildings on the hill.
