Referring to the relative appearance of the football programs. With the coaching changes and instability here resulting in player losses and recruiting difficulties over the last few years and the NCAA smackdown potentially resulting in similar issues at USC. Just a topic for discussion. Needed a break from the "fire Dooley," "we can't run the ball," "our O-line stinks," "we have no D" threads.
Actually, we need to be top 5, or at least top 10 those years. There is still a very large talent gap between us and the top tier SEC teams. And we need SPEED at RB, DB, and LB.

In all honesty, the talent gap is closing. If we can continue to have recruiting classes hovering in and around the top 10 for 4 years straight with a very low attrition rate(at least with the 4 and 5 star guys), while filling our needs, the talent gap will start closing. At that point, it comes down to coaching them up as the difference between top 5 recruiting and top 10 recruiting is negligible.
