UT plays Bama 3 times?

Hope springs eternal during the off season. No one beats Saban twice during a season. Fulmer had a shot, Miles had a shot, not gonna happen. The last starting QB to beat Saban 2 years in a row was Drew Brees when Saban was at MSU. The most likely outcome of this season is we replace an 11 game losing streak to UF with an 11 game losing streak to Bama.

Exact same point I made earlier..teams are lucky to beat him once much less doing it twice in the same year. I would rather beat them during the regular season and keep them out of the SEC Championship. Hell I'm not greedy I just wanna beat his a$$ once then go from there..Hell if Hugh Freeze can beat him back to back years at Ole Miss there is no damn reason for us not to beat them too.

Alabama has 3 big road games this season. TN, LSU, Ole Miss. Not counting them out but the odds are stacked against them to make it to Atlanta. I think we'll be playing LSU.

I agree and feel the same way. I honestly wouldn't want to play them twice if we won the first one.

This year....Saban comes up a little short.

Hey hey, play on words.

Such a joy.

Do I want to beat them twice this year? Hell yes! Do I see it happening? No. We need to accept that we are seeing a man who will go down as one of the greatest CFB coaches. If we are able to win in Knoxville this year it will most likely be because Bama hasn't found a QB or RB that plays at the level they are use to. If we are able to beat them after 7 straight weeks without a break then Bama will likely lose games to LSU, aTm, and possibly Ole Miss. If we had our bye before them then I would predict a win.

My nightmare scenario for this season is UK finds a way to beat UF and Bama and we lose to both of them.

I don't think there's much of a chance that Bama gets to the SECCG this year.

Isn't that kind of irrelevant though. There is Bama Mulligan in place, they just play in the final four. Bama doesn't have to get to the SECCG.

My take, if everything panned out for the Vols, there is a very good chance the Vols have to beat Bama twice and LSU, OR beat Bama three times to win a NC.

Of course, there is a lot of football to play before now and then so this would entail quite a lot a this stage.

It's the Bama Mulligan, if we don't beat you the first time, well, there is always the second time, and when that fails maybe we'll do it a third time.

That might be the easiest path.... lose to Ole or LSU.... 2 loss Bama goes to the dance and they never even have to travel to Atlanta. They really appreciate how this is setup. :)

It's a nice thought, but there is no way the committee will let the loser of the SEC championship into the playoff.

I think the 4 best teams in the nation should be in the CFP. Reguardless if all of them are in the same conference or 4 diff conferences. I don't share the "if you don't win your conference you don't deserve to play" but we all have an opinion. That's just mine.

It a 4 loss team wins the ACC for instance and the SEC has 2 one loss teams after the SECc game then Idc if one SEC team lost the champ game. They would clearly be the better team.

Also beating Saban twice in the same year hasn't been done but at one time nobody had climbed Mt Everest. It can be done, just be difficult.

If we beat Bama in a few weeks, we could play them again in the SEC championship game and maybe even see them again in the playoffs..
Ouch!

Absolutely zero chance we see them in the playoffs. It's only going to be 1 team from the SEC. I never understand why people think we can get 2. The Big 12 is probably already missing out on the playoffs for sure, Houston has a very good chance of sneaking in as a G5 team if things go well. 2 P5 Conferences will already be missing out should Houston make it. No way they let 3 miss it.

Too many good teams with easier paths for that to happen.

Ohio State or Michigan will make the Playoffs.

Clemson probably makes it back.

Then an undfeated Washington is lurking. Houston could be undefeated as well or Louisville with one loss.

Then the SEC Champion.

Above all ut, the sec champion.

McCaffery should win it easily.

D4H will disagree.

McCaffery earned it last year. Left out on the popularity contest.

McCaffery will probably earn it again this year, but will probably lose out to the more popular pick.
