Bray is a true freshman he'll be aight. He will fill out in due time, i actually hope he doesnt play for two more years considering Simms can get the job done. So we can have a ready QB when Simms leaves and we dont miss a beat like in years past here recently

I have heard nothing bad about Bray except for his size. Outside of size (and a little speed) what does Simms have on Bray?

Bray completely outplayed Simms in the O&W game. Anyone who was there saw it. Simms looked horrible. Bray throws the ball so well, and I think there is an upside down the rode in playing him this year over Simms. According to Hyams, Bray also shows great leadership abilities at a young age.

Can anyone give me some more reasons why Simms is the projected starter?

Iv heard simms has come a long way since the spring game and has been more consistent than bray.. Who knows though. The coaches have a better view than any of us, they are gonna pick the right guy. No reason to really worry about it in my opinion. The guy that gives us the best chance to win will be the starter. Period.

I agree with you. I trust the coaching staff to make that decision. I am just curious what their justification would be though.

I attended the O&W game and didn't necessarily think that Simms was as terrible as people made out. I do believe he threw some passes he wouldn't have normally thrown in a real game, but his arm strength really impressed me. There were a few throws on out routes that impressed me (because of what I have been used to seeing here recently). I agree that the coaches will pick the best guy, but i believe that guy will be Simms for now.

Supposedly this summer he really started understanding his role a lot more, and after changing systems a few times sometimes it just takes a bit for things to click.

Really just about Simms being older and more of a leader at his point. Hard for true freshman to do that. Not a knock on Bray, he is gonna be a star. Plus, best case scenario is for both to be good so Bray can red-shirt or at least be protected.
Simms was very impressive in Manning camp, and all we saw of him was O/W game, it wasnt good I know but in O/W game OL was split and both starting DT's were on other team. He didnt have a chance! Its was just one game, Simms is gonna be good!

Hughes, Walker, Miller, Walls, Smith, Jackson, and Myles were all on the other team.. I would say that was significantly harder to deal with while having half the line and half the receivers.

I was a little apprehensive about comparing the two visually (although that's the first thing I thought too) because I thought it might be construed that I was comparing them athletically. That being said, I really hope Bray turns out to be just as talented as Manning. Here's hoping he can beat Florida though. Not disparaging Manning as I didn't follow the NFL until he got to the league, but I don't want to go another four years without beating them.

All good points. I guess I secretly want Bray to start this year, so that we can have a second year starter next year. Whoever starts, I trust the coaches, and will root for them 100%!!!

No matter who starts they would be a 2 year starter next year. Assuming they can continue to get the job done.

Simms' arm is better than Bray's. I can tell that from watching video. He had one of the strongest arms at the Manning camp as well.

You may be right, but that did not show in the O&W game. Bray has surprised many with his arm.

Yes. It looked stronger too. I'm not saying that it is necessarily, but it looked to be in that game.

Bray only threw one heater.. If you were there then you should have seen the heat Simms was throwing on the out routes.
