I got a parking ticket on campus today. I am not a UT student (anymore) and don't have a permit. Does UT have any power to make me pay this ticket (i.e. jurisdiction)? Or am I pretty much stuck with it?

Generally speaking, they will hold your transcript until you pay.

If it goes unpaid and they spot your vehicle on campus they'll tow it away whether it's parked legally or not.

at least, that's the impression I got when I never paid a UT parking ticket.

Where in his post does it say anything about him still having to graduate or having a transcript withheld? If anything it states he is not a student of the college any longer and asks only if they will do anything about it if he does not pay

Don't pay, fight the screw!!

At UT? People who want to graduate.

It was funny to see the "surprised" look on some people's faces that got done with the grad ceremony only to be forced to break out the checkbook one more time to get their actual diploma.

i was talking in general.

i found the best way to avoid parking tickets in college was to not park where you weren't supposed to.
Oh, in general... I guess people who want to renew their vehicle registration. :) :good!:

as a private entity UT shouldn't have the ability to stop you from re registering your car.

1) UT is a public school.

2) They don't, he said "parking tickets in general" so I went that route. The FIRST time I responded was UT specific...

Are any of you guys actually READING the posts?!?!

I haven't had a UT ticket, but I have friends that didn't pay them and didn't have a problem. . . .once they had graduated.
