UT Overrated in 2020 - they aren't wrong...

Burrow ran a 4.7 40 and Fromm ran a 5 flat , which makes burrow a little more versatile. Yes, Fromm struggled his junior year, but before that, he was amazing. He beat Jacob Eason out of a starting position as a true freshman. Eason was no pushover, either.

Lol...there's a lot more than .3 seconds on their 40 times separating Burrow and Fromm.

Fromm didn’t really beat out Eason. Eason got hurt.

And didn’t reclaim his job when healthy again...cuz he got beat out.
Technically right. But I think it was more that the team had an insane running game and was about 9-0 by the time Eason could get in the field again.

He didn’t make the killer mistakes that Eason was more prone to commit. Hard to argue with the rationale.

So Auburn and Texas A&M are on the overrated AND underrated lists? What? 🤔
This would've been good...
  • Tom Fornelli: Since the SEC wasn't smart enough to schedule a game between Arkansas and Vanderbilt, it will have to live with the indignity of having two winless teams this season.

Not really bothered by it; Dodd doesn't seem to think much of UT anyway, picking them 5th in the East. He is not confident in UT's QB situation, which I get. But Dodd has UK picked 3rd, who is placing its hopes on a QB who hasn't played since 2018, and who did little more than hand the ball off to Snell that season. Just doesn't seem consistent.
Wtf? Who does he have listed as 4th? The dirt peckers? I'm sick of everyone being so high on KY. They have a one-dimensional offense. You shut that down, you win. We had no issue shutting that down the last 2 seasons. Heck, if we had decent QB play last year, we would've blown them out.

They were playing better as a team period with Frohm. Eason had them undefeated to, before injury. However they were squeaking by lower teams, and he got hurt at the RIGHT time. That UGA team was absolutely loaded too. Chaney had that offense humming and they weren't about to pull their momentum (Frohm).

I don’t think they beat Notre Dame with Eason...much less Oklahoma.

JG had better passing numbers as a freshman paying the tougher end of the schedule with the exact same team.

JG is and was much better. Throwing up a prayer because you are scared of the hit and technically taking less sacks is not a good thing when you are just throwing incompletions and turnovers.

I've posted it 100 times. JG needs to be better, but we're on a 3 year run of finishing in the bottom of the league in rushing. Don't tell me it's all a QB problem.
This. Meanwhile, passing has not been bottom 3. Right about middle the last 2 years, a little better depending on the metric.

Definitely needs to improve, but it's amazing no one ever points out our bottom-of-the-league rushing and wonders why none of our QBs can bail us out constantly.

It says, "The Tigers will have familiar foes champing at the bit to unseat them..."

I have seen plenty chomp at the bit over the years, but never seen anyone champ at the bit.

Is this a new way to do it during covid?

The weak spot has been the QB position period. No one has been able to win the spot over JG, and it isn't because Pruitt and Chaney haven't wanted someone else to wiin it.

It doesn't help that whenever they give someone else the chance to win it, they get injured.

QBs threw 25 times for 213 yards (8.5 YPA), 2 TDs and 0 INTs that game.

No it's objectively been our OL. Our "stuff rate" was 130th out of 130 teams 2 years straight. We just finally got off that last year. Lack of S&C killed us 2 years+.
I just went back and watched a bunch of games from the past couple seasons today. I stand corrected. Teams didn't seem to be loading box that often against us. I just hope that changes this year. We gotta be able to run this season.

They have Auburn and A&M listed as most overrated and most underrated. They cannot be both, can they?

Look closely at the end of each paragraph. They have several names at the bottom of each paragraph. It is not one opinion, it is different peoples opinions. One will say they are over rated, another will say they are under rated, and had they only allowed Dennis Green to chime in, they would be who we thought they were.

No running game is definitely holding us back. We were up 2 scores on Ga State and driving again when we couldn't convert a 3rd and 1 early last season. Instead of going up 20 we turned it over on downs, the dike busted that drive and we never could stop them from that point forward. We've sucked at running the football the last 2 seasons and not because of our QB. Top half of league in passing is good enough to win if we could get out of the cellar running the football.

Would’ve been a tall task. 😞

Nope, only interest I have in IU is the old " what's good for team x is good for the economy".

7-3 is not the floor, that's where most; including myself, predict we finish with the somewhat known variables we have before us to evaluate.

I'm saying that if one of those variables (QB play) spins to below average and is left to be not corrected, that floor rapidly falls to 4-6 with this schedule.
I think you must not have watched the team play last year. 4-6 is just a little silly. I might be persuaded to say that 6-4 is the floor, with that only happening if JG plays like JG and Pruitt insists on playing him all season; but JG all by himself is not going to drag the entire team to 4-6, and it's just a disservice to the progress the team has made under Pruitt to say they are capable of 4-6. I think the only way 4-6 could happen is if half the team walked out on the season because of COVID.

Fromm made some decent throws and even a few really good ones. He is what we hope JG can become. Burrow made multiple elite throws multiple times during every game last year. He embarrassed the best lock down corners in CFB and consistently found the weak spots of the elite CFB defenses. LSU’s offense was redesigned around Burrow b/c of how good he was. UGA’s offense tried to hide Fromm behind their RBs.
