I strongly suspect Leach walked up to Stoops during pregame and said "Mark you know nobody gives a damn about this game and it's almost 8PM, let's just make something up and go get some beer." So they just got together for five minutes, flipped a coin to pick a winner, and told the GAs to fill in a box score on their way out.
