Yesterday's events leave us without a new head football coach. The Athletic Director appears to have done an incomplete job of searching and recruiting potential coaches, but we don't really know. We do know that Currie is not a popular man right now; many Tennessee supporters want him fired immediately. But Currie is still the AD and the university cannot wait to fire him and hire another AD, before hiring a new head coach of the football program. The reality is that hiring the new coach is still Currie's responsibility.
Currie's promise to do a good job of the hire is no longer believable, because of the Schiano fiasco. So where do we go from here? How do we proceed? What alternative is there except to sit and wait for Currie to do his job?
