Yesterday's events leave us without a new head football coach. The Athletic Director appears to have done an incomplete job of searching and recruiting potential coaches, but we don't really know. We do know that Currie is not a popular man right now; many Tennessee supporters want him fired immediately. But Currie is still the AD and the university cannot wait to fire him and hire another AD, before hiring a new head coach of the football program. The reality is that hiring the new coach is still Currie's responsibility.

Currie's promise to do a good job of the hire is no longer believable, because of the Schiano fiasco. So where do we go from here? How do we proceed? What alternative is there except to sit and wait for Currie to do his job?

The admin should fire Currie, Name Fulmer acting AD, and name Fulmer, Manning and Hoke as the search team. the search team will select the hew coach and must be in 100% agreement as to who that man is, and Fulmer will introduce him as soon as possible. Once the new HC is introduced, the admin will begin searching for the new AD if they don't want to name Fulmer for the position. However, he was promised the position when Hart left, but Currie was hired instead... dirty politics by Haslam - who hates Fulmer.

They need to fire Currie and then hire a new AD so he can hire the coach he has to work with.

Currie is a lame duck AD right now so no coach will take this job without a huge buyout because they know he can’t survive this. Unfortunately Currie also has a huge buyout. I don’t know how UT can afford a new AD, a new Coach, Butch’s buyout, Currie’s buyout, and apparently Schiano’s buyout if the stories are true.

Not sure how Currie can salvage this situation.

Currie does not need to be involved in any hire for the next head coach. Replace Currie with Blackburn and let him conduct a search and hire

So Butch had a huge buyout, Currie has a huge buyout, and Schiano might already have a buyout. Whew birds! Seems like the majority are for firing Currie immediately. How would that happen? Does the BOT do that?
