VOL Fans..... Can we give Kiffin a chance to prove his worth before we start thinking of a replacement? Steve is a good coach, and has lived in Tennessee, but born in Miami, Fl, but we need to let this staff work their magic first.

might want to check the thread date there chief

ever since spurrier got to south carolina he's done nothing but bad mouth the program & belittle the players. the messed up thing is the usc fans still love him. if he were to ever coach UT i might jump ship.

I don't see what would be wrong with Steve Spurrier being the new coach at Tennessee. I think he could bring a winning attitude and transform our program back to the elite status we have held in the past. He is good. You have to admitt it. He knows how to coach. He just gives you confidence as a player. He expects alot from his players and they give the effort in return. Steve is from Johnson City, so he is a native Tennesseean. I think it just fits. Can you imagine? Winning games 52-0 again. Being feared by teams because of our potent offense!

Maybe we can get that hot new offensive coordinator from USC. I hear that Bush kid might go #1 overall when he gets out of school.

This was written in 2003, and there people already using past tense to describe the greatness of our program... He definitely needed fired after 2005...

Will the Fulmer supporters admit defeat or will they keep fighting?

:w00t:If "The Ole Bowel Coach" is so beaudacious, why has he not done so as a Lamecock Head Coach. Don't think he has transformed that program. In like manner he certainly hasn't taken it to greatness... Lest you forget he was a miserable failure as a Pro Coach.

Steve Spurrier isn't a Tennessee native either. His family moved into Johnson City when he was a kid. Steve Spurrier coaching at UT would mean him having to explain a lot of insults and comments against UT players, coaches and fans. It AIN'T gonna happen. He said on national television, "I am a Gator and I will always be a Gator". Steve Spurrier will NEVER coach at UT.

People here don't even like him, including me. :bad:

but, other than UT and occasionally bama, where was his competition?

He also had constant trouble when playing the two Bowden coaches at Auburn and Florida St.....the latter of which was also a very good team in the 90s

But the SEC overall was weak at the time
