(With apologies to Business)

We might as well not make the trip to Lexington according to the pundits in Alabama that I have to listen to or read. The sports editor in the local Florence paper said that, even though UT has a better basketball team than the Wildcats, Kentucky has a better FB team and will beat UT Saturday, something like 38-21! Max Howell, a regional radio sports personality and former assistant coach at multiple southern schools, alluded to the fact that Georgia should not have lost to a vastly inferior Tennessee team and should be in the hunt for a national hampionship now. Of course the bookies in Vegas have us a three point dog.

Reminds me of the 2001 (9-11 delayed) game vs Florida when we were 18 point under dogs and pulled the upset and went to the championship game!!

P.S. Should we lose the game to Kentucky, there is an outside chance of going to the Outback Bowl and playing Michigan. That would be something, with possibly two coaches that had won national championship coaching their last games.

I seem to remember the pundits suggesting that we not make the trip to Cal as well.....that didn't work out so well, though.

Hey rockydoc, i am over here in muscle shoals, so i know how you feel about the local Tricycle Daily from Florence. That paper sucks! Every time UT wins, that paper will give a minimal column to them, but if they get beat they are front page. Go VOLS! Beat them Cats!:twocents:

I'm trying to figure out what UT has done to earn respect. Blown out by a 6-5 Bama team on the road, Florida on the road and a 6-5 Cal team on the road.

I have not heard a single person, sport commentator, give UT a chance for weeks now. Ever since they have been in control of the East. Evreyone, ESPN, has been calling for a UGA or UF vs. LSU SECCG. Little do they know that they are all going to look boarderline retarded for counting out the team that has been in the lead of the East for the last 3 weeks of the season.

Well now UF is out of the race and UGA is done with the SEC schedule. It is UT's for the taking.

I think most of the sports experts would like to see GA or FL in the SEC against LSU because they feel they are more exciting to watch. We don't really have an 'electrifying' offense or defense and sometimes watching them play is like watching paint dry.....sooo what!!!...we know that we have gotten where we are by the skin of our teeth but that will not diminish our enjoyment of beating KY one more time to get to the SECC. We may not be the most
AWESOME and AMAZING team but we are the VOLUNTEERS and we will do what we need to do to get to ATLANTA!! GO BIG ORANGE!

This season has been funny. One minute we are getting no respect, the next we are overrated. Now we are getting no respect again.

If the team can get motivated by the "no respect" thing, fine. But I don't think the writers are crazy to doubt a team with our track record this season. I think we can win, but I'd be lying if I didn't think we could just as easily drop this game.

Isn't this statement true with most every football game played (please don't ask for examples, they are obvious)?

So just maintain the "I think we can win" attitude and lose the "we could just as easily drop this game" attitude and have Fun.

Go Vols!

I find it amusing that a lot of the media and also many Vol fans always claim that we lose all of our big games. Funny, I thought both Georgia and Arkansas were pretty big games. If we had not beaten Georgia they would have been a 1 loss team and in the running for the National Championship now, but nope, we did not win a big game there. Im sure if we had lost it would have been called a big game that we lost.

On Fox Sports Radio, yesterday morning on my way to work, an analyst kept talking about how LSU could lose another game to either Georgia or Arkansas, but Tennessee would have no chance to beat them. I find that amusing due to the fact we pretty much killed both of those teams, Arkansas, just a week and a half ago.

Tennessee has been as consistent as anyone else in the SEC east, albeit our 2 losses got a little out of hand.

Tennessee has always had a hard time getting respect even when we have been at our best. The biggest example was our National Championship which a lot of the national media at the time hinted was luck. We dont lose a single game, it luck. Florida on the other hand during both of their National Championships lost a game but they were not lucky. The way I see it, if you lose a game and are still in the NC game you are a lot luckier than Tennessee was in 98

I'm with you on this one....

I was reading a chat session with Bruce Feldman yesterday and there were several "what if" questions that centered around UGA beating LSU in the SECCG...

The whole time I was thinking "Hey, all UT has to do is win and they're in the SECCG"

But there were so many people...fans, "experts"...that are chalking the UK game up as a certain loss for UT....it makes me sick

We haven't won any style points this season...but we are the only team in the East that controls our destiny...

Apparently that doesn't count for anything

UT has struggled on the road, and Kentucky beat LSU at home...

Those were big games cause everyone was calling for some coaches head! So I say, everyone Lets get Fulmer thinking his job is on the line again. Write a letter to the News sentinel with former players sigs on it and watch the beat down on the Cats.

well all we have to do is beat Ky and things will change a little.

Agreed...

And to take that one step further...IF we win out including the SECCG and a BCS bowl game we will be getting plenty of respect

Both for this year and next

If we win the SEC this will be one of the weirdest/ least satisfying SEC titles ever.

I'll be happy about it but it just won't have the same feel as the two in the 90's, IMO.

I just hope CPF has the guys ready for the game to get us to the SECCG.

This is why I'm not a Fulmer fan. There should be no question about having your guys ready for this weekend yet, I bet everyone of us wonders if they will show up motivated.
