The Alabama game changes nothing. It's all about how he closes in the last 4 games. If he goes 7-5, he's probably back next year. With all of this talk, he may have to win the bowl game too.

Like it or not, 8-5 is a solid improvement over the last 2 years.

Comparing our situation to Auburn's is laughable. They've fallen off of a cliff and are sitting at 1-6 with games against TAMU, UGA, and Bama still to come. They're not bowling this year and will likely post a 3-9 record (worse than any in UT history).

So much wrong in that post, I don't know where to begin.

Is beating Troy, Missouri,Kentucky and Vandy that much of an improvement? A win over South Carolina might save he's job, not likely though.

Theres no guarantee we win the last 5 games of our season...we VERY easily could end up 3-9 like Auburn if they end up with that record..the worst we could go is 4-8 and set a new record for losses in a season...all hope is about gone at this point, and I think a HUGE majority of fans prob agree...maybe major changes will happen to UT over the offseason and hopefully a good chance we land a proven winner for a coach and then the winning can commence once again...I am sick of this losing week after week, with no improvement in sight...its been 3 yrs now and no progress..time to begin anew once again...sorry DD your not cut out for a SEC coach...go coach a FCS school; your chances of winning there are ALOT better then a major D-1 school...

USCe should be a loss
Vandy/Mizzou are toss ups
UK/Troy should be wins

6-6 seems very likely to me (2-8 SEC). At least I can go to the game when they play in the Birmingham Bowl

I wish we could make Dooley an assistant coach or coordinator or move him to an admin position (after all, we're paying him-- he might as well work for those millions). The Dooleys are nice people and represent the university well, imagewise. But he's just not HC material, not now and maybe not ever. This will be his last shot for a long time at a major program. JMO.

We not bowling yet. With the way this team playes the Missouri and Vandy game is now longer a sure win. If we split those two games we end up 6-6. That's if we beat Kentucky. We are so bad on defense whoever we play they have career days. :mf_surrender:

Seriously? The Ala game was huge for him. Winning the last 44-6 against Mizzou, Troy, UK and Vandy arent exactly season or career saving wins. But I will play along and say it is..Not likely he even wins all 4I games. Vandy is looking more and more like a loss, Mizzou runs an offense that historically we havent stopped or done well against. Troy played Miss St better than us and their D played much better. We will be lucky to be 6-6. I see no scenario he keeps his job unless he beats SC and wins out. We are playing SC at the worst possible time, and I can see Spurrier hanging a beat down on Dooley after their beating last week. WE are getting outscored on average in the SEC 43-27 and giving up 500 yds a game.

If the players quit like they did against UK last year I agree that 6-6 is the ceiling. But all of our losses have been to good teams. I still expect to win out in Nov and finish 7-5.

The most damning losses this year are 1) MSU and then 2) FL. I don't care if FL is turning out to be better than most expected. When we played them they were still trying to gel and we had them in the ropes. Good coaches finish games like that.

Troy put up 200 more yards of offense against Miss St and held them to about the same total d yardage that UT did. I don't think any win on the schedule is assured after the UK loss last year and the 2 OT win over UAB in 2010.

This could be an ugly year for SEC Coaches. DD, John L. Smith, Chizak, Richt?, the Joker, I won't even rule out Pinkel or the Mad Hatter!

Sabin, Sumlin, Muschump, Mullen and Franlin appear to be safe. I don't see Spurrier retiring either.

We'd be just as bad if Fulmer was still here
Posted via VolNation Mobile

That's impossible! How do you justify that statement? At the very least fulmer has solid hc experience and WINNING experience...not to mention nc experience, and all that is just the tip of the ice berg.

Fulmer actually won some SEC games. Dooley well, not so much. Fulmers players played hard and they would compete. To say that Fulmer would do no better with this team than Dooley has is just BS. Fulmer would put you on the bench if you kept screwing up. Players were held accountable for on the field play. Would the record be much different? Who knows. I do think UGA and Miss St at least.....would have been W's.
