I agree. There's got to be medical people at the stadium. I hope that quote is an exaggeration.

Ya gotta get the call first its a process fellas.. I wasn't there so I dunno but.. Think bout how this process works and don't blame the responders so hard unless it was blatant lazy arse not doing their jobs..

My brother is friends with one of the guys. Been texting him. The guy that fell wasn't drunk just celebrating the touchdown. He is still in surgery but they are not telling them anything until his parents get there

Great to hear the rumor of his passing isn't true.

I used to work Panther games at BoA Stadium. We may have had 8-12 EMTs working the Upper Bowl and another 2-4 staffing the Care Centers. Probably the same numbers in the Lower Bowl, and probably 4-6 that covered the suites. No more than 1 or maybe 2 golf carts that carried the backboards and stretcher that had to cover the entire stadium, minus on the field, of course. Depending on the level of unruliness of the crowd, we could watch the game, or we could be quite busy. Wasn't there tonight, so I don't know the specifics, but it's not easy providing medical care to 55,000+ with a staff of 20-30.

Long story short, don't rush to judgement.

Ok, next time I'll fight my way through a couple thousand people and throw everyone else out of the way who is helping. It was obvious helped had been called for but took awhile to arrive.

You're overreacting, I'm referring to the fact that, in my experience, the Georgia Dome Security is staffed by complete fools who know someone, hence why they have their jobs.

They're ingrates, and I truly hope they're taken to task over the incompetence shown tonight...

The responders just didn't look like they were sure what to do and noone was taking charge. Fans started trying to help but they were mainly just trying to keep people away.

True conversation I heard, last year, during the commercial break of the Jaguars game during the second quarter, which is usually the height of crowd booziness:

Large Female Security Officer: Damn... T.I. be getting a little chunky...

#2 Large Female Security Officer: You know you'd still tap that...

Cretins "secure" that building, and from personal experience, I will rush to judgement.

Sorry to hear that Sparty.. Sometimes it's like that.. Hope that wasn't the case where the fans were more help than the responders...

Another thing to keep in mind. The venue, in this case the Georgia Dome, pretty well decides to what level of care they want to provide. At Panther games, I could only function at EMT level. At the speedway, I could function as a Paramedic.

Shouldn't matter... Emt can do as much as needed for this episode...

While sad to hear it was UT fan injured... I don't care how long it took a stretcher to get there. Maybe they should have fell too just to show they cared

With 20+ years as an Emergency provider in a BUSY department people think we show up with a time machine and can turn back time and make your bad move disappear. That's not the case, you do stupid #***..we just show up and solve it ..we didn't design the railing, or make you drink, or make you disregard your surroundings.. People your choices matter... EMS, FIRE OR POLICE can not change it after the fact.... accept responsibility for your situation and location.

I truly hope everyone involved has a speedy recovery !!

Depends on the state. First Aid, CPR, spinal immobilization are all givens, but advanced skills allowed by which level of training varies from state to state.

Never understood why stadiums don't have a net coming out 3 or 4 feet to keep this from happening.

Hate to say but in all of the events that I've heard of, no one's fallen. You have to be doing something that you're not supposed to in order to fall. Think of the thousands that have attended without falling.
