That's what I heard Chris Low say yesterday. Does this surprise anyone else? I always thought we were at the top.

In terms of what???? I have seen the indoor facility/weight room and would be shocked if anyone has BETTER facilities.

I would really like to know what facilities he is talking about. I have a hard time believing that we are that far behind the SEC. I mean Stokely is a hole but can you really count that???

I think it's the total facilities he's comparing which includes locker room, dorm, indoor/outdoor practice fields, coaches offices, meeting rooms, etc., etc. If I recall, dorms were one area that Tennessee really fell short.

well we are near the top in size, but not necessarily grade. neyland stadium usually ranks near the top in best stadium atmosphere too. dont know much about TBA except that it looks a hell of alot better than it did before

Kinda surprising to me. I've never heard anything but praise for UT's facilities. :dunno:

This is a very surprising comment. I also believed we were easily at the top.

thats crazy... i can see where someone might have an argument for the dorms but not for anything else. Our indoor facility is top notch especially since it went to 120 yards and the new offices added at the end are incredible as well. Cant imagine what he meant by that comment

He says as of right now that Tennessee is behind, not way way behind, but behind. Granted some of the upcoming improvements will certainly help.

Of the schools that he says are really really nice: Mississippi State, Alabama, South Carolina, LSU were mentioned. I'm sure that's not an all inclusive list, just some that he mentioned.

I was under the impression that UT used their facilities as a good example as why a recruit should choose the school.

I've been in the indoor practice facility and I have a really hard time believing there is a nicer building in all of Columbia, SC.

I've been there as well and have a hard time believing him myself. But I haven't been to the others around the SEC and he has.

I'm sure there's a lot of support here for remodeling and upgrading the head football coach's office.:)

Perhaps its just a case of age...with the addition of facilites already on the UT campus coming to other schools they are probably a bit nicer than the ones that we have. UT will just have to continue to upgrade and renovate to keep up with the times. I would also imagine that dorms would be a pretty big factor in my mind with all other things being equal if I was a recruit.
