There are always outliers. But is what Clemson did the rule? Far from it. People can try and convince themselves that stars don’t matter but the actual data says the exact opposite.
The bottom line is the team with the most highly ranked players win the vast majority of the NCs. There is a reason why the same teams make the playoffs every single year. They have the most talent.
