UT cross-conference head coach hire?

Why? Can you guarantee he can win without cheating?
I can't guarantee anybody can. Maybe that's our problem...we're not trying hard enough.

I've said it before...12-0 with a bowl ban doesn't look too bad right about now.

No one can. Just don't get caught is the key
He's going to be under a microscope if he's even allowed to coach in the conference again, getting caught is inevitable just go ask Pearl if you can continue to get away with it.

Pearl is the worst at it. The man denied a pic taken of him in his own house for a violation he'd been hit with before. Admit it, get a secondary violation and he's still coaching here (maybe)

Claiming to not recognize the wives of his assistant coaches in a picture taken in his own house was next level stuff.

I agree. Maybe not calling hookers on his state issued cell phone should be high on his list at his next big job.
he probably won't do that again. Maybe

Pilot has burners just need Haslam to make sure there's a truckload of them

That was just inexplicable. Even my kids recognize the moment they're cooked and find religion

I mean... I delete the history on my phone about once an hour just in case I pass out and my Mom comes over. This dude is calling escort services on his work phone and people want to risk 7 figures betting on him. I can’t get over that thought process.

Would he leave Bama?
Didn't really have a good vibe with him when he was at USC or Washington.
Sometimes coordinating is really easy when you have the best talent in football .
Alabama is successful because of 2 reasons .
1 Offensive line is always stellar.
2 Defensive line always stellar.
Sark has a terrible reputation because of his transgressions away from the game, he's like all the others like Kiffin and Freeze as they all would sell their soul for another chance at a Power5 school. Kiffin somehow after torching the Raiders, TN and USC still got given another chance and in the end I bet it comes back to haunt lil Miss when the NCAA comes a calling. I expect to see the same thing happen down at LSU as well within a year or 2. Once a cheater always a cheater I feel.

And what he's done with Alabama's offense this year, my goodness. He's the one and only assistant coach I would want us to go after.

It's astonishing how much better you look when you actually have a good QB. I'm sure Jones could comment on this as well.

It would just have been something else eventually, some coaches just can't help themselves.

The media would be all over us if we hired Freeze because of the Schiano fuss. While different levels of wrong, they will crucify us for being too pious for Schiano but willing to sell our soul to win with Freeze.

That being said, I'd try to get Matt Campbell or Freeze.

0 <<<<<<<< This is exactly how much I care what the media thinks about, well, pretty much anything.

I agree. Just wonder if those at the top do
Really? We are on a 5 game losing skid for the first time in school history. We lost at home to Kentucky for the first time since '84...badly. All of our traditional rivals beat us by 3-4 scores, regularly. We lost to GEORGIA STATE. Our QB regularly throws more TD's to the opposition than his own team. Our semi-literate head coach proudly lists cornbread as his culinary preference....over everything else.

What else can the media possibly add that should embarrass the administration?

I completely agree and it sucks because he is good at what he does
Yep. It's really sad as there are lots of good coaches that cheat at all levels that are good at what they do and even seem to be great for their players and their program. We're going through it here at one of our high schools. Our coach is great with the kids, great coach, won our only state championship but because of violations over the years and player dropoff we are now in struggle mode to get enough quality players to win like we're used to. It'll be years before we are contenders again unless it happens this year as we've dropped down in classification. Funny thing is and it's a hard thing but I'm a huge fan of this particular coach and hope we can get back to winning without having to cheat to do it.

If you're going to shell out everthing-Kiffin for HC ,Derek Mason for DC.Vandy, under him always had a defense with semi-talent with only a couple of true stars.Reference Vandy AT Georgia a couple of years ago.

True but there's those like me that think covering for a child rapist is inexcusable compared to a guy calling escorts.

Maybe so... And finish 6-4 instead of 5-5. WOW!

That’s sorta my point. Everyone acts like Kiffin is unbeatable and so difficult to play, but then you look up and he’s got a whole bunch of losses on the year, every year. He squeaked by a completely depleted Miss State team.

I think he’s a solid coach. But any other coach with his career record would be considered average at best.
Which record would you take, 66 wins/38 losses or 84 wins/54 losses?

The first W/L record is Kiffin’s, the 2nd one belongs to THE Butch Jones.
One we hail as a genius and the other we told to go to he!! 🤷‍♂️
GBO!!

How low are you guys willing to go? If Tennessee were to hire Freeze, I would never attend another football game at Tennessee. I saw my first game in 1945 and have always supported my University without much concern. I have been through the worst and the best and have been proud of how they have handled their problems with dignity. Hiring Freeze would mean that they have thrown all sense of dignity out the window. It would indicate that our University has winning above everything else and we all know how that works out in the long term. Hiring Freeze would be worse than hiring a certain defensive coordinator from Ohio State that this board essentially forced the University to void a Contract to hire him. Can one not see the similar character flaws in theses two coaches?
Agreed. The press would crucify us.
