UT coulda had Spurrier

In 05, there was a window when UF picked Urban over SS and before Steve went to SC. That also JUST HAPPENED to be the year CPF went 5-6. When Kiffin bolted for USC, Spurrier admitted that he would have taken the job in 05, but that it was too late for him to take another job now. We all witnessed what SS can do with some talent; as Carolina played near flawless football---with some of the talent Tenn used to pull from that State. WE could have been celebrating a big win over bama--

Yea ........... and it has taken EVEN SPURRIER five or six years to build a program at USCjr at a place that was in decent shape before he got there, not depleted like at UT. If we had hired Him posters like you would have been calling for his HEAD in one year.. :banghead2: :banghead2: :banghead2: :banghead2:

We cant change the past. we can only look to the future. We have the right man for the job IMO. Maybe some of you think we should have hired Cris Angel and turned this thing around over night. Give Dooley time and we will be back on top.

Would you really want a guy who left the state of Tennessee after high school to win a Heisman for Florida as your head coach? not to mention the fact that SC has been mediocre the entire time hes been there. Threads like this dumb down the fan base.

Er um, reading your post tells me there was definitely no harm done.

A guy (that) left the State. (He's). Two among numerous grammatical errors------If we want to discuss dumbing down. :)

I believe he had too many players on the field on both of those timeouts they had to burn. What coach does that? Obviously no well-coached team has too many players on the field! FIRE HIM!!!

Gave them the game. What was he thinking?

Terrible call using the time out and throw it into the endzone. Guess he was more concerned with his visor and just trying to get the game over with. I mean run it or short pass or something. Don't hand them the game because you're afraid of your kicker and OT.

Bcause the program died that Fall.

Ignoring the problem that year is definitely part of the reason they're struggling now. Plenty of money still flowing at the time, butts in seats and Phil selling his snake oil. The good ole boys saw no reason for change and they screwed us royally.
