Give Dooley time. If all the haters are so impatient then why don't they enroll and suit up?!! Exactly. That's my official response to the those who want cry about the season. Five years from now it's not going to matter what the 2010 record was.

Which part? The Utah part? The BG part? The trophy case part? All of the above.

I'm about 99.999999999% sure that Jeremy Foley has been AD at Florida since the early 90s and has worked at Florida in some capacity since the 70s. I don't think he was very involved in Utah hiring Urban away from Bowling Green.

What's the record at UT since 05? Besides in 05, SC was irrelevant, and UT was still considered a power. The Vols still had talent; just lacked in the coaching dept.

Nevermind that coach Lou and CSS had an existing relationship and that I doubt CSS would have pulled a Kiffin after one season...

Fail...

We are who we are, and I am optimistic we will be a better team next season, and back at the level we want to be in the SEC by 2012.

Go wish in one hand and crap in the other, see which fills first.

in 05, there was a window when uf picked urban over ss and before steve went to sc. That also just happened to be the year cpf went 5-6. When kiffin bolted for usc, spurrier admitted that he would have taken the job in 05, but that it was too late for him to take another job now. We all witnessed what ss can do with some talent; as carolina played near flawless football---with some of the talent tenn used to pull from that state. We could have been sc today.

oh........my........god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not hating on Dooley. I am merely making an observation---of what could have been---No Kiffin-and all the embarrassment THAT brought. A smoother transition from CPF to his replacemnt.

And if any of you don't think Spurrier could have won big at UT, well----go back to sleep.

I missed the proof that Spurrier said he wanted to come to UT. Seems to be a key part of this hypothesis.

I certainly remember a connection there. Maybe Foley was at Utah before taking the UF job. At any rate, they were buddies of sort---and as such, Spurrier was not even considered for the job. Off to Google.

im sick of everyone referring to sabans first year at alabama. The difference between Dooley and Saban is that everyone knew saban could coach. He had won a national at LSU and was a PROVEN SEC CALIBER COACH. What has Dooley done? Absolutely nothing. Now I love the vols, and will root for them regardless, but saying he's the savior of the UT football program is absolutely ridiculous

I did google and he has been at UF since 1976. Since he was an AD I'm sure they knew each other but that's about it

Just the notion of wanting to be like the chickens...

Pass....for everyone that thinks the sky is falling please go check out Alabama's 2007 season-Saban's first year. We are in steps 1-3 of about a 10 step process. I wish we were on steps 8-10 just like everyone else, but we're not. This takes time. Personally I think 2012 will be a nice ride.

Nice post bro!

No one wants to be like the GCs. HOWEVER, after the Crimson Terds leave Knoxville, we probably would LOVE a similar result. You people either don't get a thread, or twist the hell out of one.

Not hating on Dooley, just daydreaming on the option of not having to go through all the bs since 05.

Funny how the Gamecocks are now a lock for Atlanta.

They're good, but they're not that good. Saturday's game with Alabama was their Super Bowl. The biggest in their program's history. Reminded me a lot of Texas Tech's home win over Texas a couple of years ago.

South Carolina will be tested this week at Kentucky. And they'll likely need a win in Gainesville to secure a berth in the SEC championship. Unlike the Bama game, this will be on the road, they'll only have one week to prepare, the stakes will be much greater. How will they handle that scenario? My guess is they'll vomit all over themselves and stumble into the Outback or Capital One bowl.

USCjr has won 1 meaningful game but don't forget they have like 6 left & they will probably crumble as usual. I agree they may be a little better than usual but I didn't see bama as world beaters or anybody in the SEC as far as that goes. Auburn may be the best IMO.
