UT could worry less about losing recruiting battles if we were winning more games. Hopefully that changes soon.

I'll never forget an experience I had shortly after being hired to a new job. I was on a work trip trying to develop business and felt like a real hot shot. One night in the hotel lobby I ran into a guy that worked for a firm we'd partnered with in the past. We had a couple drinks and exchanged conversation for an extended period of time as I tried to impress him with my knowledge and moxie. I thought things were going well, but then he looked at me and said, "Do you have any idea what the F*&% you're talking about?" Stunned, I basically confessed to not knowing very much at all. He then proceeded to share the "stay in your lane" advice and I proceeded to walk back to my room with my tail tucked between my legs.

I hate that man, and I can't imagine a situation where I'd pursue another partnership with his firm, but it was good advice nonetheless.
