UT coach actively tries to help Bama win a championship

I will be putting this kind of stuff behind me.

I didn't like it, I stated it several times, Its in the past.

He's our coach now and whether I think he will or won't succeed at a high level, I'm obviously hoping he does.

His national championship ring won't hurt recruiting. We have not had any defense in years that was like he put on the field

So if they had lost they would have not considered Tennessee favorably?

You understand recruiting about like a 5 year old.

That’s where you were headed with it last
night...till football.

Odd peer group...5 year olds...that who you usually dominate in sports conversations?

You think if GA put up 45, they wouldn't think any differently at all about pruitt and UT? Get your head out the sand man, you know damn well that the Bama defense playing well makes ut and pruitt look good.

He's part of that "I'd rather water down the competition to ensure winning" than battling the best. Your team CANNOT improve week by week beating up on nobodies all the time. Gotta beat the best to be the best.

There are only so many Blue chip players. I don't like the star system it seems silly. The kind of player that comes in and improves the team and goes on to play in the NFL. 2% is a figure I saw earlier. When we start getting ours again, our competition won't be getting them. It's win win. Cause and effect. By hiring CJP from the gumps, it weakens them due to the change and strengthens us due to the change.

Our gump needs to win quickly! I'm pulling for ya gump.

WHILE I agree mostly, there are a TON of 3-4 star guys who are starters in the NFL. Just need the right guy to polish our 3-4stars into diamonds. We've had plenty of 5* that didn't do sh*t at UT (ahem.. KAHLIL)

The Star system is silly. Injuries, poor coaching, and poor use of free time is what makes a bust.

Exactly! I think everyone gets hung up on the stars but in reality for every 5* boom is a 5* bust. You want the coaches coaching the right players who respond to their coaching best. So many on here say we got talent in the ranks. We got some players, and I'm positive they are dying to win. Just need the right guy to come and turn on the lights, right?

Well we got a multi-multi-multi national champion coach who's been around the most legit, successful college has coach of all time. Hell, ain't too bad place to start is it? He's been successful everywhere he's been and it ain't just been with Bama players. I have a gut feeling we may overachieve a bit per usual opinion on this forum. Gotta say, Pruitt has been surrounding himself with guys butch wished he'd get to coach under him. Bodes well.

If they are correct only 50% of the time, I would still take them. I bet UGA is in the top 10 for the next 4 years. Show me a coach that says he would rather have 3/4* players than 4/5* players, and I'll show you a liar. Just look at the number of 4/5* players that the 4 playoff teams have. It's not the end all, but I would rather have them than not, especially if you have a coach that can develop them.:hi:

It doesn't take much for a 5* to be considered a bust. If they aren't an All American considering going pro early they get tagged a bust no matter what the circumstance.

CJP does have great experience to move us foward. He only lacks the HC aspect if it all. I expect he has paid attention to how things were ran at Ga, Fl St and gump Louis and will cherry pick for us the best of the best to make it his SOP.

It's past time to start putting chess players on the field or at least stop using them as checkers. To me that's what was Butch's biggest problem. Trying to execute a predictable offense against defenses that could run down hill at our RB while running a defense that was so vanilla that a play that worked against us in wk 1 worked better as year went along due to lack of adjustments. Not just in game adjustments but week to week too.

After 4-8 it's impossible not to expect improvement. This could be a surprising year for some that think it will take a while to get better.

I'm pulling for our gump to get us there quickly.
