If he lands a good recruiting class after waiting until the second week of January to get started, I will be impressed. If it's a meh class, then he's just another mercenary taking our money.

FULMER agreed to it because it shows hes not gonna fire the guy and leave our players hanging, also known as stability. It shows morals up front and also it will be mentioned over and over on national tv... if they lose, built in excuse..pruitt was already one foot out the door not focused on bama. If they win just another championship. Does pruit get a ring if they win?

I beg to disagree. Having a 5-time National Championship winning HC at Tennessee would dramatically help recruiting... similar to the Kirby Smart effect at Georgia after he won the Nattie at Bama.

So you have a choice. Show support for our new coach in whatever he is doing which goes a long way in welcoming him to the University of Tennessee or be negative and let him know he may not be welcome here. I'm going out of my way to show him support and welcome him. He is in a tough spot. If he shows recruits that he is a fantastic coach, and they decide to follow him to UT, we win. If we dump on him, recruits think we are shmucks and rethink coming here. C'mon! Take advantage of the opportunity to show him some love and quit second guessing a done deal. The visibility he will get as our new coach is huge.

I'll try one more time. It's called class, professionalism, respect, dignity, loyalty, and discipline. Things some UT fans need to learn. Maybe our new coach can help some of you learn how to be a adult.

Back when the Vols won the 98 championship, Cut went to Ole Miss before the win because of the rule changes. Different day, different rules. But I wonder if Cut had it to do over, I bet he would have wanted recruits seeing him help win a title. Might have gotten him 2 or 3 more key recruits. And sometimes, 2 or 3 key recruits can be the difference between going to the Music City Bowl and playing for the national title.

Pruitt should be there. Quit yer b1tch1n, OP.

I was full on hoping for gruden or Myles as head coach, this is who we hired,..has several rings on his fingers..might get another one..

i hate Alabuma as each one of you..but this guys loves his kids,..

this time and only once I agree ..go coach those kids!!

I'm not OK with it, but this is classic Fulmer. Why did anybody expect anything more. Hiring an unproven assistant when many available coaches were out there, and now we won't see the guy in Knoxville til the second week of January, its hilarious. Thanks Phil, you never disappoint.

Even worse, I'm beginning to see fans of schools he's hiring from complain on twitter because they aren't coaching their bowl games. They are coming to Knoxville so Pruitt can be with Alabama. I guess their commitment to kids they coached doesn't matter.

And another idiotic response from the rationalizing segment of the fan base that goes gaga over every new hire and praises the new coach matter what he does.

You can't serve 2 masters. If you are game planning for Clemson then you aren't doing a damn thing for any current UT player.

Exactly. This is where I thought he was a hypocrite in his press conference.

He talked about everyone buying in right now. Oh, except for him, he has some other business to attend to.

I for one respect the man for coaching the last game or 2 for Bama. The decision shows his commitment to the players and staff. That's what I would want to see if he came to recruit my son to UT.
