I had rather have someone who stays to finish the job rather than leaving his team hanging for the most crucial 1-2 games of the year.

He's the head coach of the Vols now. If he succeeds he isn't going anywhere. What matters now is connecting with the fanbase.

Absolutely disgusting.

Why anyone would be ok with this is absurd.

Tennessee expectations have fallen so low.

Wasn’t Scott Frost a name a lot of Volnation wanted. Wonder if we’d complain about him coaching UCF bowl game too. 🤔

Pruitt started recruiting for Tennessee immediately. He is going to be pulling double duty like Smart did after taking the UGA job. Now before you ask about loyalty, the guy is a winner and he is not going to do anything to harm Tennessee. Smart was even poaching Alabama commits and recruits. I guarantee he will work hard for us and relentlessly recruit great players to Tennessee. This is his dream and reputation too. I'm sure he wants to win big at Tennessee.

I don’t buy it. If we’re hiring him, he must be 100% committed to Tennessee

I know this thread is click bait but come on man! I'm sure he won't be recruiting for Bama in the meantime, so I don't see the big deal.

And some on here have on Crimson colored glasses I see.

This is not a good idea. Neither team gets 100% effort or one team gets shafted.

Needs to be a clean break in the next 2 weeks IMO.

This is a situation where we will be actively cheering against Tennessee's head coach from the beginning. We'll actually be hoping that his defense gets wrecked in the playoff.

Bad optics all around. He needs to get the heck outta Tuscaloosa now.

He may be, but he absolutely should not be allowed to coach their playoff game(s). He needs to be recruiting for his current job.

and you don't think his name being associated with the team that's in the playoffs, and possibly in the NC is not good for recruiting? swallow the pride a little bit. if it was any other team than bama im sure you'd be just fine with it.

While he is coaching in the playoffs, the media will be talking about him as the new TN coach several times during both broadcasts of Bama games (if they make it past Clemson). Will be good publicity for us.

Good for Bama - they are the team in the playoffs.

If Bama gets routed then how does that look?

The first thing that popped in my head with the OP was Charlie Brown's teacher...blah, blah, blah, blah. We all loved Cutcliffe, but he bolted to Ole Miss five minutes after being named their coach. That could've been a disaster.

They'd be talking about it just as much if he's absent from the sideline.

Or it could be that a guy made a commitment to his players and wants to see it through. After a coach who over promised and under delivered, I like a guy who does his best to his word to his players.

I'm not "loving this" news or anything, but hopefully all you people who are "disgusted" by this sent David Cutcliffe a nasty hate letter back in early '99 when he jumped to Ole Miss, thereby leaving us with Randy Sanders to coach the Fiesta Bowl against Florida State.

Some people should grow up. I hate Bama on game day when they play TN. That's it! That's all. Some of my life long friends are from Bama. Maybe you need a life?:hi:

Putting a Bama in Vol country has never been a thing. I need to get a life because we went and hired someone straight from the worst state in the entire country, who played there, who coaches there now!!? Stay overseas and screw you.

You sure about that?

For one, helping Bama win an NC is helping recruit period.

That in itself is helping recruit.
