UT Bowl discussion (merged)

I'm betting MCB.

In the scenario that UT, State, and Vandy all win, I would believe that UT gets the MCB, State gets the Liberty, and Vandy goes to the Compass Bowl.

Okay, so if we beat Kentucky which bowl would we get? Music city? When/how can you find out for sure?

This team deserves the toilet bowl, IMO. Talk about terrible! I'm still supporting my Vols and all, but to sit here and lick our lips, rub our hands together, and act like we're about to open the best Christmas gift ever, all over the Music City or Liberty Bowl. What!?

I live in midtown. It isn't as bad overall as many try to make it out to be. That said, there are some sections of the city that are that bad.

Midtown is where I lived and actually enjoyed it for the most part ... except for the time my car was broken into and another time when my house was broken into.

Are you kidding? Source? :hi:

I would love to go to Memphis for the Liberty bowl.. It's a Sunday afternoon game on ABC. Great bbq , traditional "old southern stadium" This would be alot of fun!

Plus they have torn down all the crap that used to be around the stadium and created a great tailgating area. Trust me, UT fans could hit Beale, eat BBQ, and tailgate like crazy...Lots of fun

All of us in Memphis would rather you stay there! If you believe Gary is better than Memphis you mental stability is in question and we Memphians just assume not have to pay for your care.

+1. The over-the-top Memphis bashing on this site is just nauseating.

Technically, Memphis has a higher crime rate per 100,000 people vs Gary, IN on every major crime category except murder (which they are still WAY too high) and auto thefts (again, WAY too high). But in the end you are comparing two cities with some of the highest crime/low income% in the country (according to the numbers). So it's kind of like asking which is worse, a broken leg or broken arm? They both suck and they're both useless....as are the two cities.

ESPN's new bowl projections have us in the Liberty vs. Southern Miss.

BCS Title Game - LSU vs. Alabama
Cotton Bowl - Arkansas vs. Kansas State
Capital One Bowl - Georgia vs. Wisconsin or Michigan State
Outback Bowl - South Carolina vs. Nebraska or Penn State
Chick-Fil-A Bowl - Auburn vs. Clemson
Gator Bowl - Florida vs. Ohio State or Penn State
Music City Bowl - Mississippi State vs. Georgia Tech or Wake Forest
Liberty Bowl - Tennessee vs. Southern Miss
Compass Bowl - Vanderbilt vs. Cincinnati or Louisville

Georiga Tech only has 2 losses lol.

Three and all of them are in conference and a loss could be upcoming to Georgia. Plus, Georgia Tech is 5-8 under Johnson when the opponent has more than one week to prepare compared to 25-6 when the opponent only has one week.

NC State looks like a more probable candidate, though. Assuming they finish 7-5 with a win over Maryland they'll be sixth overall in the ACC, which is the selection the MCB has.
