Watched the game last nite and saw a pretty good offensive effort.

Some of the things that stood out to me:

Dane Bradshaw is a scrapper. He is active around the ball, made a great pass inside to Jemere, stole a couple of balls and is the kind of guy that has the intensity we need.

Granted, Texas A&M got in foul trouble early, their best guy didn't play, but dang, 25 assists to 7 turnovers?????? I don't care who you play against, those numbers will win ball games against good teams.

Scooter scores 23 points in 23 minutes. Solid

Crump is a high percentage shooter (9-10) and is more active around the goal it seems.

CJ runs the team effectively and his 6 assists to 0 turnovers is a good sign of solid play. He needs to shoot the ball a couple more times, he was 4 of 6 overall and 3 of 4 from 3 point land. His stroke is nice but we need him to be better than Jon Higgins in that he should shoot a few more times.

Hendrix and Wingate are solid big men. Hendrix is quick and can get down the floor with the little guys. We need this to be effective in our transition game.

I am glad Winchester made a few baskets down the stretch, but he can't be jacking up 3 pointers so quickly

Overall good game

I like how Mike Griffith took the opportunity on Tony's show to point out that the fans are getting excited about our hoops team who hasn't even made the NCAA the past couple of years but are not supporting a 10-2 football team.

I think this team could be fun to watch this year. It's amazing that Dane Bradshaw is making the fans forget who Lee Humphrey is. At least for now. Maybe Derek, our resident Gator fan can give us an update on Humphrey.

Let me tell you all something.........

I have been to all the bball Vols home games so far this year. They are so fun to watch. They are scrappy and they hustle around the court. I know it is early in the season but this team seems to be different.

Everyone needs to support this team and go to a game or two. You will have a good time and I am sure that the team will appreciate it. Scooter M. is the real deal so is Dane Bradshaw.

Patrick I think you are right it could be a fun year. I think Scooter is the real deal and CJ Watson has to be one of the most experienced second year players in the nation. I think our best 5 are:

CJ Watson
Dane Bradshaw
Brandon Crump
Scooter McFagdon
Jemere Hendrix

These guys should get playing time also:

Stanley Asumnu
Major Wingate
John Winchester
Justin Albrecht

I just found this about Tennessee Jr. transfer Lou Wright:
"Younger brother of NBA and Memphis Grizzlies star Lorenzen Wright ... Cousin of current Vol Scooter McFadgon"

Scooter was a scorer .
CJ was a baller.

I don't recall much about jemere hendrix

Hendrix acted like a thug and was kicked off the team because of trouble with the law right before Pearl's first season.

The first of a long line of players Pearl lost to crime or grades.

Funny how short this thread was back then.
