UT Bama matchup

Here is the bottom line on why we should feel excited:

Monte Kiffin destroys even talented offenses that are pro style.

Crompton is now a Christian and is less freaked out so he can play better.

Alabama will be overlooking TN, and unlike against VT, will not be able to score at will.

Montario Hardesty and a rested up Bryce Brown are hungry and will sacrifice their bodies to break the big runs.

All of that said,
Alabama has so much more talent on paper than TN it is overwhelming. If TN loses by less than 17 it is a moral victory.

Bama has more depth than us. The talent difference isn't as great as you think. People need to look back at the Florida game. There is a lot of talent on our defense and some young talent on our offense. You'll see just wait.

The best thing we could hope for is that they throttle SC tonight. if Bama loses tonight they will be pissed for the UT game. We want bama feeling good and proud of themselves coming to the UT game. Maybe a little overconfident

Need Bamas QB to make some mistakes, as he has so far in the SC game. Need pressure on him when he throws.

Their D is ridiculous.

I don't think Bama can score more then 14 points on our D. Special Teams and Turnovers are huge. That being said even if we have no Special team or Crompton classic moments if they score 10 points we will be hard pressed to beat them. Unless the Crompton that played UGA was just the beginning of something very special.

This should be a great matchup. 2 of the best defenses in the country going at it. I think UT will force Bama to throw and it and Bama will do the same to UT. The edge their I believe goes to Bama because of Julio Jones. However, I can see this game being very close and special teams could also play a factor. If Crompton plays like he has been, you have shot at beating them but I am going to say Bama wins something like 20-10.

As a Bama fan, I have to say you're the only one I've seen here mention that the difference on offense could be Julio Jones. Not a lot of talk about him because he's been double teamed all year, but the guy will be a first-round NFL draft choice when the time comes. He's the real deal. Sooner or later this year, he's going to have a breakout game.

No doubt Crompton must play well if UT has a chance. Bama played without its best defensive back (Arenas) yesterday and still kept SC out of the end zone. They cover very well, and Crompton is going to see more pressure than he ever imagined. But UT does have a shot in this game based on Crompton's improved play against UGA. The only thing I'll mention in that regard, however, is that Arkansas put up 41 points on UGA, and, well... they came into Tuscaloosa and scored 7.

You really believe Crompton wasn't playing well because he was freaked out he wasn't a Christian?

Alabama will not overlook Tennessee. It's still a rivalry to them.

Sacrifice their bodies for Alabama? Hardesty has run hard his whole career.

Losing by 17 pts isn't a moral victory. 17pts you need 3 scores to just tie, the game is over with 8 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. Losing by a TD or less would be.

I have two major concerns going into this game:
1) the team coming out a little rusty, slow or unfocused

What's this I see here ? A UT fan trying to make sense. I think this will happen to UT. An off week hurts more than helps.

The best thing UT can do on offense is run straight ahead at Alabama to try to neutralize their speed. Don't even try to roll out or run wide on us. You will get eaten alive.Yall better run between the tackles and use Crompton once in a blue moon. A matter of fact don't even dress Crompton out for the game. You will be better off with him watching back home.

Good luck even trying to run straight at Alabama. You will probably only get marginal success out of that. But that's you're best bet. You don't have alot of options

keep the bama big plays to a minimum. our D will keep us in the game, and eliminating their big plays will keep the momentum even. It all comes down to if we can establish our run game and stay out of third and long situations.
