I thought I would be original and ask if Brambaugh and butch are on this plan lol. Guess everyone thought the same thing.

Only in sports are the people who got fired the only people who don't take a pay cut.

Notice there's a hiring freeze on vacant positions...does this mean no new DL coach?

My guess is that this does not affect Butch. He is in a legally binding contract for not only his salary but his buyout. The school cannot reduce the amount without out consent on both sides and the contract rewritten, signed, and processed thru the courts.

Every school has to quit giving out these fat "golden parachutes" to football coaches. How about we set a good base salary for the head ball coach, you know something they can live on like the rest of us and then fill the contracts with "PERFORMANCE" bonuses. You do your job, do it well, win games you are supposed to win and you get a fat bonus check at the end of the year. Do your job poorly and you live on a decent base salary. You do your job too poorly and we fire you with no huge payout.

Do you have a "golden Parachute" at your job? I sure do not the company I work for can decide to let me go at any time without any prior notice or huge payout.

The supply/demand dynamics of a "normal job" are a little different than college football coaching jobs, to put it mildly.

I mentioned this on a thread a few days ago. Paying coaches insane amounts of money may be coming to end until COVID gets addressed and attendance at games increases again.
