UT and Vandy game will have huge national meaning.

If Vandy and UT win today there is a very good chance we both meet at end of the season with not only a playoff spot on the line for BOTH teams but also a spot in SECCG.

Vandy has a rough road with Missou and Texas(road) the next 2 games. But if they survive that with no more than 1 L they just have Auburn and Kentucky to overcome.
We have Oklahoma but its at Neyland and even at their worst Florida in the swamp is a problem maybe we break the streak this year? Florida looks bad this year until you look at their schedule its insane if its not the hardest schedule in that nation tell me what is? They have played 4 top 10 teams in a row. And still have UGA Ole Miss and UT on their schedule. They play Miss State this week and those guys are no joke. They had one cupcake game and EVERY other team on the schedule, but Kentucky, either is or has spent time in the top 25, mostly in the top 10 range. USF is currently 19 FSU was ranked and looking at their remaining schedule, likely will be ranked by the time they meet UF.

The rant about UF is because people are gonna look at their record and think they are way worse than they are. I dont think they are a good team but they are a dangerous one, proved by their win against Texas. Their loss to USF looks a lot less bad right now. I personalyl think every game after tonight are games we can win. Beating Bama and Florida on the road to me would be signature wins for CJH The wins we have against them at Neyland matter but beating them in their house is something we haven't done in 22 years 2003 is the last time we beat either of them in their house. Doing that would take this team to the next level I think.
Meaning even more now OP.

I'm not a Vandy fan but I DO have eyes and can plainly see that any team taking them lightly is in for a rude awakening . Unlike Texas, Vandy is legit.

Got to get past OK and UF before any national relevant game with Vandy is realized. With our D winning out is not a given. Not sure we can outscore Vandy if that game does turn out as hoped.

Know how many times Vandy has won 10 or more football games in a single season? Including the post-season bowls?

Zero.

Exactly zero.

James Franklin never did it. Dan McGugin didn't, either. It has never been done.

They could do it this year. Seven wins already with Auburn and Kentucky still on their schedule. That could get them to 9. Then a bowl game victory, and they make history for the program.

Could they get there in the regular season? Doubt it. They would have to beat us or Texas. They're not beating us. So it would have to be Texas. And while Vandy is much improved, and Texas isn't looking super impressive this year, I still don't think the 'Dores could make that leap.

Then again, they did beat an (over-rated) LSU squad (why are Brian Kelly's teams always over-rated? It has happened at every stop in his coaching tenure. Does he send gift cards to all the poll voters every year or something?). And they beat a badly over-rated Mizzou team (wins against Auburn and USCe should not have made those tigers the #15 team in the country, I'm sorry).

So Vandy have a couple of "ranked wins," gotcha.

Still, I don't think they're taking down Texas. And they're definitely not winning against us.

So they need a bowl win. Then, history books, baby!

Go Vols!

We would have to be at Fla in the Swamp for this to happen. We have lost 10 straight there and I don't see it changing this year. We will make Lagway look like a Heisman winners..US ruining Vandy's season is probably the best we can hope for. Watching our Secondary last night was an absolute embarrassment.

Vandy absolutely could beat us and Texas. There's zero doubt about that, just a matter of if they will. We literally let a FR QB throw all over us last night, what do you think Pavia will do??
