UT and the ticket special

You are kidding right! You need to hit the streets right around gamtime and you will find that $20 is all you will spend for decent seats, not nosebleeds. I went to the USC, WKU and Ohio game for less than $20 per ticket. Gave up my season tickets because it was cheaper to buy them at the stadium. Not metion tickets were given away at the Vandy game.

Demand will be less this year, so I imagine you'll be able to pay less especially to a dog like UTM and UAB.

the usc game is normally not like that.
throw in bad weather, halloween, and the rock slide and you won't have that bad of a situation.

had a fine time though.

but, yes, you can get really cheap tickets before game time to about any game aside from whatever the big 2-3 are for the year.

Even though I have given my donation, I may just not renew my tickets. I have NO enthusiasm for the future of the program under Dooley. There will be tickets a plenty on the street if I chose to go.

The issue I'm having is the decision to raise the donation for a lot of folks. We get 3 to 4 pairs a year for our family and have paid $100-200 a ticket donation. They want $1000 each now. We just aren't going to do that. I love UT football and we have had tickets for 25 years but were not paying those prices. They even said we could pay a $500 per ticket donation for upper level. Why would anyone do that??? You can get upper level seats all day long outside of the stadium. I've set up there for one game and I won't ever do that again. There should be little to no donation for upper level and I can see $250 a seat for lower or maybe $500 at the $50 yardline but anything more than that is insane and were not paying it.

my fear is that the next thing they'll go to is the dreaded PSL like the Titans have. It assures that no matter what, the season ticket will be bought regardless if a rear is in the seat or not. If you do not renew your season ticket(s), you forfeit the money used to purchase the PSL.
Either way, they're pricing me as well as my family out of the market. Instead of going to every home game, I only go to a select few.

I'll easily find 3 extra tickets for UAB and UTC for $10-$15 max per ticket. Two years ago at the florida game, I found extra tickets easily for a couple of friends on the way to the game for $20 and $25.

That's what I'll be doing this year.

I think this has to do equally the team not doing well as the NBA and NFL coming to Tennessee. We aren't the only game in town anymore - especially for people who didn't go to UTK and just live in the state. Used to be a UAB type game would get the people who couldn't get a FL or Bama ticket and drive into Knox to do the game experience. Now you can catch Lebron Kobe or an NFL game at pretty much similar price or spend the couple hundred on the NFL ticket.

They dropped it to $100 now.

The days of buying Florida tickets for $150+ on the street are gone for now. It's sad we can't sell out for the biggest games of the season.

Yeh $100 donation + $363 for the tix = $463 annually. Thanks

I'm at a Jewish school and just realized that I have four long weekends this semester that coincide with UT home games (Labor Day, Yom Kippur, Rosh Hashana, Thanksgiving). I wish when selling these three-packs they just let you pick two lower level games and one higher level game. I can't go to Florida (so no UTM, UAB, UF) or Ole Miss (no Oregon, Ole Miss, UK), but I'd love to get a three pack for UTM, Oregon, and UK.

NBA in Memphis and NFL games on Sundays have no effect on UT ticket sales.

oh yes they do. well at least the Titans do.

This year, the Oregon, Fla, and Bummer game all have Titan home games the next day. People in mid and west Tn that have Titan season tix will go to them because they've already bought them. The PSLs require you to purchase a full boat of games, not one or two.

I would love to go to those three but if they are night games, I'm out. Titans kick off at noon and my body aint what it used to be. It hurts too much trying to do both.

I dont think the Grizzlies even effect Memphis tee ball games.

I like the Titans, but I wouldn't miss those games to see the Titans play.

If I didn't have to purchase all the Titans ticket then I would be going to those games. Only have so much money to spend. Cheaper to stay in town, tailgate, and sleep in my own bed instead of gas, beverages, and hotel room

does it worry you that they are now selling 3 games tickets with Florida as one of the game? I've never seen that we have to entice people to buy tickets like that. Normally, you can't find a ut-uf ticket. is there going to be a problem filling the stadium this year? or am I reading too much into this?

The economy sucks right now and UT isn't exactly on the verge of a national championship. I personally think it is good marketing tactics. I bet they sell a lot of tickets this way.

I'm trying to make at least 10 of the UT game this year and hopefully a bunch of Titan games. Partying hard on Saturday and Sunday---some of my best kind of fun.

I heard on Plasters show in Nashville a few years ago that at one point 25% of UT's season tix were sold to middle tennesseans. Not sure what that split is today.

I drive all over this state, and other than Shelby county, even the far west parts of Tennessee are big orange country. I think the Titans do affect season ticket sales somewhat, but I think the economy, HDTV, and the teams performance over the past few years is what hurts ticket sales the most.
