Not to be party pooper, but Clay Helton was calling the plays last night. Helton was the offensive coordinator and quarterback coach before he took over as HC. If you need proof, go back and watch the game on YouTube. You’ll see he’s referencing charting and calling the plays. He’s a very good offensive coach. No disrespect to Tee.

Nope. Tee was calling the plays. This is a false narrative being spread and uts ridiculous.

But would Tee come back as an OC here for any amount of money? Even with Fulmer now AD? I don't know, maybe it would depend on who they brought in to coach. At some point, Tee has to get a chance to HC somewhere. That's one reason why I hate it when everybody keeps saying he doesn't have enough experience. He played his whole life, from the field to the playcalling booth. What more does he need to show to get people to accept him at anything but OC? Swinney made that jump fairly easily, not comparing him to Tee or anything. I have a feeling, and I hate to say it, but are people using his race against him? Not calling anybody racist, but I just don't get what else he has to prove to the naysayers. He's either good enough or he isn't but at some point, he has to take that next step, and he might as well do it in front of his home crowd.
I pretty much agree with everything you said. His lack of experience is a little concerning but guys have succeeded with less experience than Tee. I can see him accepting an OC gig and name him HCIW especially if we was to hire Miles and with the race thing, it is a little odd we haven’t contacted Taggart, Sumlin, or Tee.

Tee recruits so good it will be hard for him to fail as head coach or offensive Co.... Just my opinion.👍✌

😂 I love it. If your non-white, mediocre at your job, and get criticized for your mediocrity........ It’s not your Coaching....... it has to be racism lol. Cuonzo lost all respect from me after he played that card. The UT fan base supported that crap coach way more than they have Barnes, and Barnes has more coaching knowledge in his little pinky than Zo has learned in his life. Cuonzo is soft, it’s why he leaves places every three years. He really knows how to protect that little ego he has

Before you go running your mouth about things you only partially (if that) know about, first refresh your memory. Providing you even want to know facts as opposed to generic mocking assumptions. Both Cuonzo and the players saw what was happening. You may want to appreciate he didn't smear UT basketball the way ole Donnie Tyndall did by lying. And at the risk of putting UT in a possible Kiffin-like NCAA probe position. If you doubt Cuonzo's and his players' claims, remember what happened to Condredge and his mom at the hands of UT fans and others. There's been, I believe, huge improvement. But the attitude is still there and popsup from time to time. My point is you folks who authomatically dismiss this stuff as false and only fit to be derided when a person of color brings it up, you don't live in the skin so will never know the results of doing so. Now, go ahead and make a claim we all know is fake news before it's even posted. Meanwhile: Cuonzo Martin’s Tennessee years were undone by close losses and angry fans - Rock M Nation

All that aside, I think we might have gotten darn lucky with Rick as our coach. I can't wait to see him kick some Kentucky butt. Skin their cat and wear it as if it was a coonskin cap.

Clay Helton does know offense.

That is a concern. I love Tee as a player and cherish the title he helped bring, but I'm not sure he's ready to be a head coach. Maybe we have no choice but to take a coordinator like Tee and let him grow into the job, but I'd prefer a guy that's proven and known if we can get one.

Having said that, we may have no other choice. If there's anyone who can sell UT, it's Fulmer. We have no choice but to trust he will get the best guy he can find out of love for this university. If it turns out to be Tee, I guess it is what it is. We will see. Just hope he's actively revisiting every head coach from Peterson on down to see if the change at th AD spot changes minds and perception. Then again....its UT and the BOT remains in place.

There's a reason why he's not allowed to call 3rd down plays and only scored an 11 on the Wonderlick test. A very good reason.

So, no thanks

I'm not sure the Browns upper mgmt. know who Darnold is.

You could be right. I doubt they have much free time with all that winning up there... oh wait. Lol!

I would think first round quarterbacks are on everyone’s radar that needs a qb. Surely they don’t just wait for the combine to be introduced. Analysts have said for awhile Cleveland would probably choose him. And then there’s this article. Darnold denies the reason but if you’re troubled with ego why wouldn’t it make the owner mad. It’s bad PR. But I’m sure Cleveland is used to bad PR.

Another Cuonzo apologist. Why does he get so much love from a small portion of UT fans? It sure has nothing to do with him being a good coach.

To me as I watched and they began to talk Tee/UT.....it was actually a more upbeat vibe around UT and maybe I’m over thinking it but it was first time all week that the storyline wasn’t “the dumpster fire” .......the slightest glimmer of something good I’ll take

I only watched about 15 minutes of the game but I am not surprised some Vol fans can't tell who calls plays and who doesn't.

I'm not so sure Tee will come to Knoxville. His wife loves it in LA and I believe his sons mom lives here.. that would be a strange setting right?

Both of a kids parents living in the same time zone, yep that’s weird
